Chapter 1:The Hidden Princess
In a world full of wonders and mystical beings, there was a land called Playtopia, where creatures of every kind lived together in peace and harmony. The people thrived, but their peace did not last long. Empires from far and wide sought to claim the prosperous land for themselves.
The king became so overwhelmed by the constant threats that he eventually collapsed. However, he had a daughter named Poppy. She had skin as white as porcelain and curly red hair, and she loved nothing more than winning.
Using strategy, intelligence, and persistence, Princess Poppy conquered every kingdom that stood against Playtopia. One by one, she defeated her enemies and restored the land to its former glory. The people cheered for her, and she was crowned Queen of Playtopia.
But no one knew how scheming the doll-like queen truly was. She was like a sweet apple with a poisonous taste.
Years passed. Soldiers and maids served Her Majesty, while traders and immigrants from other empires came to live peacefully in Playtopia. Yet the queen was not entirely happy. She had servants, cooks, and advisors to keep her company, but she longed for someone closer—someone to play with, someone to tell stories to at the break of dawn.
Eventually, she realized that what she truly wanted was a child.
Marriage, however, was out of the question. After all, she had been engaged to several kings in the past and had ended their lives for political reasons.
One day, while walking through the royal gardens, she heard a cry tear through the air. Curious, she ordered one of her maids to search for the source of the sound.
The maid soon discovered a basket caught on the branch of a tree. Inside was a baby.
After rescuing the basket, the queen saw that the child was a baby girl—a fluffy pink Huggy.
Poppy knew what Huggies were. They were tall, fluffy creatures with colorful fur and bright red lips. However, she had only ever read about them in books. Neither she nor anyone else alive had ever seen one before. Huggies were believed to be extinct.
As she gazed into the baby's eyes, she wondered where the child had come from. Were there reports of a missing Huggie child? Was there a surviving Huggie settlement somewhere in the world?
Then she paused.
The baby stared back at her reflection and giggled.
For the first time in a long while, the queen laughed.
Looking around, she noticed that the basket had drifted from a tunnel through which a stream flowed into the kingdom from beyond its borders.
"You're not from around here, are you?" the queen asked softly.
The baby only smiled.
A smile appeared on the queen's face.
"From this day forth, you shall be my daughter."
And that is how Queen Poppy gained her daughter,
Kissy Missy
.
From the day Queen Poppy announced she had a daughter, the people of Playtopia were completely confused. When did she even get married? And who was this child she was talking about?
Everyone wanted to see the baby for themselves, but the Queen had no plans to show her to anyone. Instead, she made the maids, knights, and all the castle staff swear a strict oath. They weren’t allowed to talk about the child to anyone—inside or outside the castle. She warned that if anyone broke the rule, they’d face serious punishment, including their families being executed and their heads displayed publicly.
Terrified, the staff all lowered their heads at once.
“We understand, my Queen.”
The baby in her arms giggled, looking up at the sparkling chandelier. Queen Poppy smiled proudly. She gently lifted the child and kissed Kissy Missy on the forehead.
“My sweet girl,” she whispered, “you’re going to fill the emptiness in my heart.”
She hugged her daughter tightly as the baby squealed with joy.
Meanwhile, in a tavern in the castle town, the night was full of music and laughter. A band played lively tunes while warriors from faraway lands drank and enjoyed their time in Playtopia.
But not everyone was in a good mood.
In a dark corner sat a cloaked figure. His face was hidden, but one arm stuck out from under the cloak—a huge skeletal limb made of twisted metal ending in sharp claws. He sat quietly, holding a mug in his massive hand.
No one dared go near him.
Then one of the patrons mentioned that the castle supposedly had a princess now.
“WHO?”
The shout echoed through the tavern.
Everyone froze. The band stopped playing, and all eyes turned to the cloaked man.
“Who is the child?” he demanded.
The man who had spoken earlier answered nervously, “I don’t know. The castle staff won’t talk about it. Some say they’ve never even seen a child in the castle.”
“Maybe it’s just a rumor,” another man said.
“It can’t be a rumor,” someone else argued. “The Queen herself announced it.”
“Then why hasn’t anyone seen her?” the first man shot back.
The argument went on until the cloaked stranger slammed his fist on the table. The whole tavern went silent.
A woman finally spoke up.
“I think it’s fake. The Queen isn’t married. How could she have a child? And the royal family doesn’t allow children born out of wedlock.”
Several people nodded.
The cloaked man slowly looked around the room. After a moment, he simply said, “Carry on.”
He stood up and disappeared into the night.
As time passed, days turned into weeks. Talk of a princess faded into rumors, then jokes, and eventually most people forgot about it.
Deep in the castle, in Queen Poppy’s fancy chambers, she was searching in a panic.
Then she heard laughter coming from a wardrobe in her bedroom.
Smiling, she walked over and opened the doors.
Inside was Princess Kissy Missy.
She wasn’t a baby anymore—now she was a playful toddler.
“I win, Kissy!” Queen Poppy laughed. “Come on, let’s go have tea.”
She took her daughter’s hand and led her into the garden.
“You know, Kissy,” the Queen said warmly, “all that running around can wait. I’ll always love you, no matter what.”
Kissy Missy giggled and skipped beside her mother as they walked through the flowers.
