Mr. Cliche || KTH ✔️

Summary

She made a wish to become a fanfic character, and that's EXACTLY what she got. After wishing on a shooting star Disney-style, our female lead is sucked into a world where she quite literally becomes Y/n. Now in a new fanfic-like world, she's stuck with the seven BTS members, and all of them are into her, for some reason? Especially Kim Taehyung, who claims to be her "anchor" in this fanfic world. In this parody fic, explore all the common fanfic tropes in a comedic fashion, including BTS fanfic tropes we know and (probably) love. Jackson Wang throwing parties? Check. Making fun of the "Hoseok is only there to drive a bus" trope? Check. Making fun of the "Jin likes pink and is the mom figure" trope? Also check. You name it, it's probably in here. So, if you're looking for a good time and plenty of Taehyung, stop on in and enjoy this parody crackfic! --- Updates every Tuesday and Thursday in EST! Will be finished in September 2026! --- Cover by @_powderz on Wattpad.

Becoming Y/n

Shooting stars were real, apparently. And, seriously, screw them.

She had been walking home after a grueling shift at the hospital when she saw it blasting through the sky. Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer would be jealous of that thing. It was brighter than her fricking forehead.

So, she had taken the opportunity to make a wish. And when you were sleep-deprived, put up with patients whining about a nurse taking their blood pressure all day, and got chewed out for being five minutes late, you tended to make bad decisions.

And, oh boy, a bad decision was made.

I wish I was living in a stupid fanfiction. Anything other than this annoying life.

Yeah, that was the wish. She had spent one too many nights staying up reading fanfictions about BTS, Harry Styles, and Marauders era Harry Potter.

But, in her defense, she didn’t think the wish wouldwork.

One minute she was walking on the cracked sidewalk, the next she tripped. Or, had been pushed was the more accurate way to phrase it. Some force threw her forward, but instead of smacking her head on concrete, she had slipped through the surface and screamed as she flew through a void. The longer she had fallen, the more blue sparkles engulfed her.

That led her to where she was in the present.

Shooting star land? Dream world? Fanfic reality?

She was still deciding on a name, but maybe the most accurate way to put it was...I’m so gonna be late tomorrow.

She groaned as she sat up in the new world she assumed her wish had taken her to. Look, she had read enough stories to know something was fishy. You don’t just phase through the flipping ground.

So, she wobbled to her feet, rubbed her eyes, and let herself adjust to the new light. It had been night, but it was day in the fanfic reality. It looked not too much different from her own, but everything was distorted. The sidewalks weren’t cracked anymore. The sun was maybe a bit too orange. The trees had leaves every color except natural for her area. One was a bright pink.

Like, Adela’s hair levels of pink.

She whipped her eyes around and feasted on the grass that smelled like it had been trimmed ten minutes ago, the suburban neighborhood with dogs barking in the distance, and a clear sky with heart-shaped clouds appearing every hundred feet or so.

“What the heck,” she said to no one in particular. Not for lack of people, though. There were a few people skipping—yes, skipping—down the concrete on the opposite side of the road. No cars on the road, though. Not—

Oh. Spoke too soon.

A bus plowed over the lip leading down to the rest of her neighborhood, and Korean music blasted from it. It slowed to a stop by her side, and the door opened, revealing none other than... wait a second.

Jung Hoseok?!

“Hoseok!” She let out a yelp. “What the... huh?!”

“You like my ride?” Hoseok asked with his classic heart-shaped smile. He was in his Lollapalooza era with that mop-like hair and jawline so sharp she swore she could slit her enemy’s throat with it. Wait. Did she have an enemy? Why did she feel like she did? She didn’t in the real world. What the hell was going on?

Regardless, she refocused on the situation.

“You’re a millionaire! Why are you driving a bus?” she asked, her voice still ten times higher than it had ever been before.

“Because the author was too lazy to write me a role other than bus driver.”

“What?!”

Hoseok maintained his grin but didn’t elaborate, and a beat later, Kim Taehyung popped into view. He was in his 2020 Scammys era with the fluffy black hair, I-wanna-bang-you eyes, and black turtleneck with the gray coat thrown on over it.

“Hey, Y/n,” he said, his voice as deep as ever.

“Y/n?” She knitted her brows. “My name’s not Y/n.”

“It is now. Don’t you remember your wish?”

Ah, sugar. It was real, huh?

Well, hey, if she was gonna be BTS’ Y/n, she wouldn’t complain. She thought that was more Hobi or Jimin’s role, given how much the BTS members couldn’t take their hands off those two, but whatever. Maybe she could cosplay Sabrina Carpenter and get an Eiffel Tower out of her new fanfic world.

Taehyung got off the bus and patted the side of it. It looked like a bus from Spongebob Squarepants with the red exterior and white wheels.

“Catch up with you guys later. Y/n and I are gonna take a walk.”

“Ooooh, are you two gonna boneeee?” a male voice Y/n recognized as Jimin’s squealed out. Jimin peeped over the corner with long, blond hair going down to his shoulders. Y/n couldn’t see the seats on the bus from her position, but she had a feeling she didn’t need to. Last thing she needed was to get shell shocked by all seven members of BTS.

Getting boned by all seven, though? Well, hey, that was a different story.

Taehyung facepalmed. “No, my sugar plum boo boo bear. Y/n and I just met.”

“So?” Jimin asked with a pout on his plump lips. “This author wrote Psycho, bro. I banged Y/n in chapter one of that book.”

“Yeah, and that’s why the book got a hundred thousand reads, dumb dumb. But this book... it’s not like the other books.”

“Dang right!” Hoseok added with a nod that bounced his hair. “Alright, we have to go. We have a party to get to.”

“A party? Really?” Y/n asked.

“Yeah, don’t you know? Jackson Wang throws parties every day!”

Y/n sighed. “’Course he does.”

Hoseok was quick to shoo Taehyung back so he could close the door, and then, the bus zipped away, leaving Y/n with Taehyung, standing on the sidewalk. Y/n realized the “people” around them were other artists. Blackpink were there, TXT, Katseye, and more.

Y/n glanced around her new world, shook her head, and placed a hand on her hip.

What the hell did I just get myself into?
