Chapter One: One Less Day
[Author’s Note: I had the idea for this story after thoroughly traumatizing one reader and entertaining another with “Chicken,” my Mahito x Gojo one shot. Evil monster that I am, I then had the idea for the OG yaoi I’ve always had a thing for in JJK: Mahito and Nanami. I’ve alluded to Mahito’s supposed crush on Nanami in my other stories, and I will go down in flames with this sinking ship.
The title is meant to be funny, but the story actually ended up being serious and sad other than Mahito’s inherent silliness.

Kento Nanami ticked another day off his calendar.
One less day of bullshit, one less day until retirement.
He loosened his tie, gathered his briefcase, and began his quiet walk home. Nanami preferred walking to driving or taking public transportation. It gave him time to shed his work persona, although the seriousness never left him, and ease into his protected private life.
The apartment he’d rented for the last five years was just like him: organized, tidy, efficient. The one indulgence he allowed himself was pictures of beaches tacked on the walls: sugar white sand, crystalline water, and blazing sunshine added splashes of color to his otherwise sterile home.

All Mahito had wanted to do was watch a movie in peace and quiet, but as usual, disaster seemed to follow him.
After transfiguring and killing three very rude teenagers (he felt it was a favor to society), he found himself with unexpected company. That was okay. He needed a new toy, and the boy named Junpei fit the bill nicely.
Sigh...another day, another human to manipulate.
Mahito enjoyed his long walks home, giving him time to think and process how his day had gone. When he finally got to his tunnel, he kicked his shoes off his tired feet and crawled into his hammock.
He wished he were in Dagon’s domain with its pristine beach, endless blue ocean, and clear bright sky.
