Chosen By My Nightmare

Since the incident with Miriam at Winfrey, the school was shut down. Investigations went on for a year, and people started- to think it was a cult. Parents lost their shit when they found out what their kids were involved in. Apparently, someone was recording the event and after Remy asked those that hated multi-shifters to join her, when the parents saw how fast their kids reacted, they were shocked. It was officially our last year at Rosewood, and we planned on making it our best year. Mom and dad had moved back home. Dad had been very short with us. Lila insisted on staying with us even though I told her she didn't need to and Dalton decided to step down as headmaster and travel the world. We were all sitting down to breakfast before getting ready for our first back.

Me: Is Damien attending this year?

Lila: How the fuck would I know?!

Me: Oh, I don't know. Maybe because he's your boyfriend!

Anton: Babe, they broke up like a month ago.

Me: What?! Why?!

Lila: I got bored.

Me: WAIT! WAIT! WAIT! You caused me to hate you and almost attack you, and you got bored with him?!

I lunge at her when Anton grabs me.

Anton: If I didn't know any better, I'd say you still like him.

Me: NO!

He just looks at me with a look on his face.

Anton: Mmhmm.

I roll my eyes. We all finish eating and head to our room to get dressed. I was in the middle of changing when Anton walks in my room. I quickly cover myself.

Me: Anton!

Anton: Oh, I'll see it soon enough.

He walks up to me and wraps his hand around my waist.

Me: Anton, Stop!

Suddenly, I fell him pressed against me. Like really pressed against me. I quickly pull away. I turn my head and point to his crotch.

Me: Do something about that!

Anton: You caused this.

I turn to look at him, and my eyes immediately drop down to his crotch. I turn away again.

Anton: You can't hide from it forever.

He points to it.

Anton: This is how babies are made.

Me: I know how babies are made! Now get out!

He laughs as he leaves to get dressed. Pink was soon going to become a new glow for me messing around with him. I finish getting ready for school when and we all head to Rosewood. We head to the Auditorium to do the welcome back ceremony. Me and Anton take our place on stage. He takes the stage first.

Anton: Welcome back everyone for another great year!

All the students start clapping. I take my place next to him.

Me: I want us all to take a moment to pay our respect to Miriam Morales. Her sacrifice is what has helped families like mine survive.

Anton: All multi-shifters please stand up.

About twenty out of a thousand students stand up. Before it was just me and Lila but now more were coming out.

Me: In honor of Miriam and All future multi-shifters, Anton and I have hereby changed the one-year law.

Anton: From the moment of birth, no multi-shifter can be euthanized.

Everyone starts clapping.

Me: We also have another announcement. Headmaster Dalton has retired. In his place--.

Lila: No one can replace him!

Anton: In his place Mr. Daly will be the new headmaster.

I hear Lila scream. Me and Anton start laughing. Mr. Daly walks out on the stage.

Mr. Daly: Most of you may remember me from potions class, but I hope to live up to the last headmaster's expectations!

Lila: AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I look over to see someone fanning Lila.

Anton: That's your sister.

Me: Don't remind me.

I shake my head.

Mr. Daly: In honor of the king's grandmother. We will be renaming the Ziri garden after her.

The whole school stands up and applauds loudly. I look to Anton and nod.

Anton: We also have one more big change this year!

Me: We are adding two new ranks to the hierarchy.

Lila: Dibs!

A student jumps up.

Student: Bullshit just because you used to date the king and your sister is the queen shouldn't allow you to be one!

Lila: Don't push your luck on the first day of school.

The student sits back down.

Vex: I know I'm in.

Me: No one with any connect in any way, shape or form can join. This is how we keep it fair.

Lila: Bitch!

Anton: Silence! The queen has spoken!

I pat his chest.

Me: Honey, calm down.

I turn to the students.

Me: Every hierarchy is allowed a stand in in case anything happens. Lila, you will be the alt queen.

Anton: I haven't picked yet.

Vex: I'm clearly the obvious choice.

Malik: Why you? You're literally a nonsexual rapist at this school!

Vex: What the fuck does that even mean?!

Lila: Means your too scared to actually commit to it!

Me: Don't encourage and provoke him!

They keep arguing. Anton semi-shifts and breathes fire, getting everyone attention. Mr. Daly step forward.

Mr. Daly: And the last piece of news is we will now have a daycare for young parents so they can still attend school and graduate.

Everyone claps.

Mr. Daly: Lila, I expect you to be the first to take advantage of this.

Lila: Only if it's yours Mr. Daly.

Me: Ah! Stop it you two!

Anton leans over and whisper in my ear.

Anton: Is it me or does Mr. Daly actually have a thing for your sister?

Me: Gross! He older than her!

Anton: How old do you think Mr. Daly is?

Me: At least in his forties.

I lied though. He was like late twenties at most.

Anton: What? Mr. Daly is only twenty-four.

Me: What?!

Anton: You really need to work on your reactions. I might actually end the seal you flip out about another guy today.

Me: Don't kid like that!

Anton: Who said I'm kidding?

I scoff. We finish the ceremony and head off to get our schedules. Suddenly,a girl bumps into Anton and winks at him. She had a purple lotus on her chest. She had horns and a skinny long tail. She swings her hips as she walks away.

Me: What is she?

Anton/Lila: Succubus.

Me: Like skanky demon girl?

Anton/Lila: Yep.

I look at Anton.

Me: Don't even think about it.

Anton: Why would I? I can just have you do it.

I shove him and head to class.

Me: Perv.

Anton: Oh, you haven't seen nothing yet!

He chases after me, but I ignore him.
