Enjoy the story

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What a fascinating read! The thing I enjoyed most about this story was the way the fictional werewolf/Lycan elements are woven into actual historical events. That combination made the story feel so much more immersive than a typical paranormal story. The historical details were honestly one of my favorite parts. Seeing Edinburgh in 1870 and the struggle surrounding women trying to study medicine gave the story a strong foundation, and knowing that Sophia Jex-Blake and the Edinburgh Seven were real women makes those scenes feel even more meaningful. The historical note at the end of the chapter was such a nice touch too—it shows how much thought went into grounding the fictional story in real history. I especially loved how Rowan's determination to enter the examination despite the hostility surrounding the gates immediately established her character. She doesn't feel like someone who simply gets swept along by the plot; she has her own purpose, ambitions, and reasons for being there. Her connection to her father's research adds another layer to her journey as well. And then there is Reid. 👀 His quiet presence and mysterious connection to Rowan add a completely different atmosphere to the historical setting. I really liked that the supernatural element wasn't thrown at the reader all at once. Instead, there are little hints that something is not quite ordinary, which makes the mystery more intriguing. The atmosphere is another huge strength. Edinburgh itself almost feels like a character—the old buildings, gas lamps, stone streets, Arthur's Seat, the cold November air. It creates this wonderfully eerie backdrop for both the historical drama and the supernatural mystery. Overall, the actual historical facts woven into the werewolf story made this a true pleasure to read. It feels like the kind of story where you can enjoy the fantasy while also coming away curious about the real history behind it. That balance is difficult to pull off, but this chapter handles it beautifully. I'm definitely curious to see how Rowan's historical journey, her father's research, and the Lycan mystery eventually collide. Such an intriguing beginning!"
