Summary

A lone caretaker takes a six-month posting at Station 6, an isolated Arctic research outpost erased from every map. The previous caretaker supposedly went home. But they find salt rings around the transmitter, scratches on the inside of the door, and a logbook that ends with: "The ice remembers everything." The station isn't measuring weather. It's receiving something. Buried in the archived recordings, they hear a voice beneath the static, a voice that knows their name. The ice beneath the station holds an ancient organism that doesn't consume bodies. It consumes minds. And it has been waiting for someone who listens carefully enough to become its next broadcast. As the polar night closes in and the frost begins to grow on the inside of the walls, they realize the signal isn't just coming from the ice anymore. It's coming from them.
