The Peterson Family.
Today felt like any other day as the Petersons woke up and go about their morning routine. Mrs Peterson was by the stove humming a beautiful melody as she cooks breakfast. The sun streaming through the open window, cast a golden glow across the kitchen counter, as the fresh scent of early morning flowers wafts in. Mr Peterson sitting on the dining chair, goes through the newspaper in his hand, occasionally grumbling or nodding to what he is reading. He glances towards his wife and smiles warmly at her.
"They are going to be late again." He sighs with a shake of his head. Samantha chuckles as she serves food onto plates.
"I don't know what to do about it anymore, but at least they won't be late for classes." She said placing the dishes on the table just as they heard the sound of footsteps rushing down the stairs. " And here they are, right on time for breakfast."
The first to sit on the table was Isabella, with a quick greetings to her parent. Then Mirabelle grumbling and muttering under her breath, and then Annabelle who walks to her parent and give each a kiss on the cheek with a sweet smile on her face. In her hands was her backpack and that of her sisters.
Annabelle was the eldest daughter at the age of seventeen and in two months time she will turn eighteen. Second daughter is Isabella and she's fifteen years old while the baby of the house is Mirabelle, thirteen years old. All loved and pampered by their parent.
Kyle with a proud smile on his face regarded his family. He has always loved them unconditionally that Samantha at some point thought is was unhealthy. But it was just him being himself; an overprotective father with a big loving heart.
"You girls are going to be late yet again." Sam said arranging their lunch in their packs.
"Don't worry mummy you know I drive like a racer, we won't be late." Anna said winking at her mum.
"Due to your poor driving skills you almost gave daddy a heart attack." Isa retorts flipping her hair back.
"Can we not talk about driving and just start going?" Mira who was already on her feet said, going over to the counter to carry her lunch pack and her backpack. She hates to be late and she hates wasting precious time on trivial things.
The three sisters waved and said goodbye to their parent before dashing out of the house. Annabelle unlocks the door and they all file inside,Mirabelle taking the passenger seat while Isabella takes the back, and ofcourse Anna was the driver not Isa who always tries her best in persuading her sister to let her drive.
"Maybe some other time." That was the usual response she always gets. This time was no different.
Kyle works in a construction company as the managing director while Samantha work in one of the most famous IT companies and owns a flower shop.
And with the kids gone to school, they head upstairs to get ready for their day.
The Hunter Family.
"Why is the coffee taking so long Marina?" Mr Kevin almost yell as he grew more and more impatient with his wife. It was not like this years ago and Marina for the life of her couldn't understand what went wrong in their marriage. She was always the loving and caring obedient wife who never says no to her family, only "it will get better someday." Or " have a little more patience." And sometimes she says, " I promise I will get it for you but not today."
"Just a minute darling." She answers, rushing to finish making his black coffee. She always wonder why he never adds even a drop of sugar or a tiny drop of cream to it. She once asked him in the early years of their marriage, "why do you always like your coffee black?" His answer was simple, "it wakes me up and makes me active during the day." With that answer she never asked him again.
Aaron was in the kitchen with his mum helping her to make breakfast, while Maxwell was at the table helping Archer with his homework that he forgot to do last night. Even while scolding his brother for not bringing it out last night, he was patient enough to help him through it.
"Mama let me." Aaron said collecting the coffee mug from his mother as he notice her hands trembling. She smiled sadly at him and touch his cheek with her trembling hand.
"Thank you,but I can manage." But he shook his head and grab it from her and head over to the table to serve his dad breakfast. A simple dish of scrambled eggs, toast and coffee. The eggs came from their farm which was half a mile from their house. And they also have some goats, chickens, cows and pigs too.
Every morning and evening Aaron and his brothers would go over and tend to the farm, but during school days Marina took that upon herself, just like today.
By the time Marina finished making and serving breakfast, Maxwell and Archer were done with the homework and joined in having breakfast.
Kevin was the first to leave the table and after about ten minutes, he walks out the front door but not before giving Marina a kiss on her cheek telling her he's off to work. Kevin owns a car repair shop and he's very good at his job, and that means people enjoy his services.
Meanwhile Marina let out a sigh and rush to pack her kids lunch. Aaron at the age of eighteen feels he's too old to carry lunch to school. While fifteen years old Maxwell prefers it far more than he would admit. Although he once admitted it to his close friend at school.
"My mum is the best chef in the world you know. I will never get tired of her food." He had said. But Archer never complains at his tender age of thirteen.
While she was done she hand them each a pack. As she was about to hand Aaron his,she let out a dry heavy cough that shook her entire body. All the three kids shocked expressions lands on their mama.
"Mama!" Aaron rushed over and rubs her back soothingly. "Are you alright mama?"
"Mama are you sick?" Maxwell asked.
Archer couldn't say anything he was too shocked to even move his legs. The sudden cough surprised them because they have never heard or seen such from her.
"I'm alright my loves. No need to worry about me, go and don't be late for school. Have a lovely day." She quickly dismissed them and rush into her room. She closed the door and lean her back against it.
Marina has been sick for a while and she did her best to hide it,not only from her husband but also her loving and caring children. She doesn't want them to worry. Beside, the medicines were pretty expensive and she doesn't want to bother her family for it. Even though Aaron works in a diner and run two separate shifts to earn more money, she feels is too much of a burden for him.
Without wasting anymore time,Aaron grab his keys and left the house for school, not before sneaking a lingering glance at his mama's closed door.

wonderful start ♥️♥️
