A Note from the Author
For those discovering me for the first time, hello! And for those returning because you fell in love with What Happens in Boston, welcome back.
And welcome to my version of Beauty and the Beast. Yes, there will be spice. So it is rated 18+.
Now, here’s the deal: this isn’t Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. This story is very loosely inspired by the original French fairy tale, La Belle et la Bête, first published by Gabrielle-Suzanne de Villeneuve in 1740.
And when I say loosely, I mean loosely.
This is a contemporary romance, and it turns out there are certain parts of an eighteenth-century fairy tale that are a little difficult in a modern world without everyone having some very reasonable questions. So I’ve taken pieces of the original tale, twisted them around, and built something of my own from them.
You’ll recognize Beauty. You’ll meet a Beast. There’s even a rose.
But this isn’t quite your typical contemporary romance either.
The world you’re about to enter is very human, with one small thread of magic woven through it because, really, what’s a fairy tale without a little magic?
One more thing before we begin: I’m sharing this story on Inkitt while working around a pretty full schedule, so updates may be irregular for now. I’ll post new chapters whenever time allows, and I appreciate you reading along with me.
