Chapter 1

In a kingdom that rose in Al’Baha, Saudi Arabia a young girl lived. In that young girl a story was manifesting. In that story the stars had displayed out in the dark blue sky, but unlike everyone else this girl was unusual.

They say with her purple eyes they seemed to glow in the night and could see right through you, to the bad deeds you have done, the very monster you try to hide. Her beautiful dark purple hair that paired with the eyes seemed to glow with a gold tinge.

Her dark tanned skin seemed to suck up all of the light from the sun and radiated. Although, nobody knew why she looked so perfect and nobody questioned.

Her beauty ran far and wide across the country. Rumors spun by the spider like gossipers engulfed their listeners and soon the Dark King had heard of this child and her unusual gifts.

This king knew what lay underneath that girls skin and wanted it for himself. It was just a matter of time.

The young girl was named Adira. A prized possession of the Great Czar himself. For he was a greedy, unfair, and unkind man. Therefore, he locked her in the castle forbidden to step out of the walls.

As Adira grew she learned to read and write, speak different languages, and use weapons. All kinds of weapons, and for her that was her favorite thing to learn. She felt free. Every jab, twist, and parry of a knife or sword made her feel alive.

Every time she used a bow and arrow she felt that every breath she took was vital. Every arrow she had were her hearts as if she were a cat. And the very bow she had with those intricate twists and curls in the wood was her home.

When she walked around the courtyard, she walked with ease and a type of grace that only she could perfect. Her robes were made of the finest material and were mostly always black, even in the heat of the dessert it didn’t seem to bother her.

When Adira passes by the nobles and servants of the castle they always cast envious looks around her but had never dared try to speak to her. Her only friends was her loyal servant and sister that she never had Salima, and Bashur her weapons master. Bashur was always looking after her as a father figure. He just gets her and she him.

But Adira is hiding something from even them. Every night she would have dreams of wearing a white long dress and being held by a man that she could never see.

As days grew the dreams would get clearer and she would find herself waking up at night and walking to the open window always searching for something.... or someone. She never wanted anyone to know of those because she felt the dreams were personal and only for her.

Night

As the sun set and everyone was getting ready for bed I climbed to the top of my dome shaped roof that was only big enough for me to sit there. As I sat down I looked at the clear sky watching the sun set and the night sky stretch above me until there was a clear sky full of stars and one moon, a beautiful full moon.

I had done this since I was but a four year old. It seemed almost like a ritual to me that brought me comfort every night.

I would climb up with my soft uncallused hands and sit praying to the moon and stars that something in my life would change. I pleaded and pleaded to every god and goddess that I knew would help me be free.

Get to explore the outside world and city, and have people see me instead of what is on the outside, but I never gave up hope and hope never gave up on me.

This night was no different. I prayed and pleaded for a change, thanked the gods and went to sleep to play on the next day.

This was an introduction by the way so it was going to be shorter than the rest of the chapters
