The Surprise That Wasn't Supposed to Be a Surprise

Jung Ho-seok was having a perfectly peaceful Saturday morning.

He was drinking coffee.

He was wearing comfortable sweatpants.

He was listening to music.

And most importantly—

Nobody was bothering him.

Then his phone buzzed.

Jin: We’re coming over.

Hoseok stared at the message.

“No.”

Another message.

Jin: Surprise!

Hoseok immediately called him.

“Hyung, what do you mean you’re coming over?”

“I’m bringing everyone.”

“Everyone?”

“Namjoon, Yoongi, Jimin, Taehyung, Jungkook…”

There was a pause.

“And your family.”

Hoseok nearly dropped his coffee.

“MY FAMILY?!”

Jin laughed.

“We’re surprising you!”

Hoseok looked around his living room.

His eyes widened.

Because sitting on the coffee table were two tiny pink-and-blue children’s cups.

On the couch was a stuffed rabbit.

And on the floor was a toy dinosaur.

Hoseok whispered:

“Oh no.”

He had completely forgotten to put away evidence.

Meanwhile, upstairs, Y/N was helping their daughter get dressed.

“Mommy?”

“Yes, sweetheart?”

“Is Daddy’s family coming today?”

Y/N froze.

“…What?”

The little girl smiled.

“Daddy said Grandpa Jin might bring everyone.”

Y/N slowly turned toward the stairs.

“Hoseok.”

From downstairs came a panicked voice.

“I KNOW!”

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...

The Contract Wife

jo987_123: The story could be longer, the ending feels like you've missed the last episode of a series that is never going to be shown again and no recording of it exists anywhere. A lot of continuity errors, she leaves her car in town/at college and then it's at home the next morning. She helped him out of his...

jo987_123: This is a good story, but it needs a good editor to go through this iteration and fix the mistakes. The pov changes from 1st person to 3rd person, often, and sometimes within one sentence. It needs a liberal sprinkling of punctuation marks throughout, and a decision needs to be made about the char...

Sharda: I really enjoyed the pace of this story. It was mostly realistic, but It was tough to wrap my head around that a 13-year-old boy would be so intuitive and a friend to his mom. My 13-year-old daughter is super smart and says I am her best friend so I guess it is possible. I struggled because boys usu...
