Chapter 1: A Prodigy Beyond Itachi
Uchiha Akira stood before a mirror, staring at his reflection.
The boy in the mirror was not even six years old.
“I never imagined I would end up in the world of Naruto, much less become an additional son of Uchiha Fugaku.”
“Uchiha Itachi’s younger brother.”
“And Uchiha Sasuke’s older brother.”
“Fugaku and Mikoto probably named me Akira because the name means ‘bright and clear.’ Perhaps they hoped I would grow into someone who could illuminate the future of the Uchiha clan.”
“Unlike Sasuke, who was named after Sarutobi Hiruzen’s father, Sarutobi Sasuke, my name doesn’t come from anyone famous.”
“Still, considering the fate awaiting the Uchiha clan, it feels strangely ironic…”
Akira shook his head.
“But more importantly, why is my hair half white and half black, just like Senju Itama’s?”
“Aren’t Uchiha only supposed to have black hair?”
Footsteps sounded outside.
Akira turned around and saw Uchiha Fugaku entering the room.
“Akira.”
“Father.”
Akira hesitated before asking, “Be honest with me. Am I actually an illegitimate child you had with another woman? You can tell me the truth. If I am, I won’t blame you.”
“After all, even Mother has already forgiven you.”
Fugaku fell silent.
“Stop talking nonsense!”
“You, Itachi, and Sasuke are all sons born to Mikoto and me. There is absolutely no doubt about that.”
“As for your hair, it’s merely a minor mutation.”
“It’s perfectly normal.”
Akira gave him a suspicious look.
“Really?”
“Of course.”
“Then I’ll believe you for now. Why did you come looking for me, Father?”
“There’s something I need to discuss with you. Follow me.”
Fugaku led Akira to the lake within the Uchiha compound.
“You’ll turn six in three months, Akira.”
“The Ninja Academy’s new term also happens to begin three months from now.”
“Unless something unexpected happens, you’ll undoubtedly enroll at the Academy.”
“That’s why I plan to teach you a few things about being a shinobi before then.”
Fugaku paused briefly.
“The foundation of every shinobi is chakra. Therefore, if you wish to become a shinobi, the first thing you must learn is how to extract chakra.”
“Close your eyes.”
“Clear your mind and calm your breathing.”
“Focus your consciousness inward.”
“…”
“Don’t rush. You’re my son, so your aptitude certainly won’t be poor. When I taught Itachi back then, he grasped it immediately after hearing my explanation. Even if you can’t compare to him, you shouldn’t be too far behind.”
“After all, both of you are my sons…”
Fugaku was extremely satisfied with Itachi.
“Like this?”
Akira interrupted Fugaku and extended his hand.
A mass of chakra had already gathered above his palm.
Fugaku’s pupils abruptly contracted.
“You’ve already successfully extracted chakra?”
Fugaku examined it carefully, and a trace of delight emerged within him. Even his heartbeat involuntarily quickened.
Akira had learned to extract chakra even faster than Itachi had.
Itachi was already a widely acknowledged genius, and Fugaku had placed great expectations upon him.
But judging from what had just happened, could Akira’s talent be even greater than Itachi’s?
Two outstanding prodigies from the same family?
As Fugaku imagined such a future, the corners of his lips involuntarily curved upward.
“Father, you’re drooling.”
Fugaku hurriedly snapped out of his daze and wiped the corner of his mouth, only to discover there was nothing there.
He cast Akira a resentful glance.
Fugaku sometimes felt utterly helpless when dealing with this son.
Akira’s personality was completely different from that of other Uchiha children his age.
He frequently said strange things that no one else could understand.
He also had no idea how to spare someone’s dignity.
Not even when that person was his own father.
What normal child would directly ask his father whether he was an illegitimate son?
Fugaku had previously been worried about Akira.
He had feared that Akira would never be able to fit in with everyone else.
Now, however, Fugaku felt much more reassured.
That was because he had discovered that Akira was a genius.
As long as someone was a genius, having a slightly eccentric personality was no problem at all.
“Not bad. You managed to extract chakra remarkably quickly, but you mustn’t become arrogant or complacent. Extracting chakra is merely the first step for a shinobi.”
“Taijutsu, genjutsu, and ninjutsu are far more important.”
“I’ll teach you your first ninjutsu now.”
Fugaku continued, “The shinobi of the Uchiha clan possess a natural affinity for Fire Release.”
“I’ll teach you the Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique.”
“You must begin by forming the hand seals.”
“Watch carefully.”
With that, Fugaku began forming the seals.
Snake—Ram—Monkey—Boar—Horse—Tiger!
The next moment, a massive fireball appeared before Fugaku. Under his control, it flew toward the lake.
Ripples spread across the water.
Boom!
The fireball exploded and disappeared.
The lake water directly beneath it even showed signs of boiling.
“Akira, give it a try—”
Before Fugaku could finish speaking, an identical fireball had already appeared.
It was exactly the same as Fugaku’s Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique.
