You Decide

I looked at the tv and I thought it was going to make me feel better to finally hear news like this about Corbin but I just felt empty.

I looked at my phone on the couch and thought about calling him. I know that what he did was bad, but I couldn't keep wondering if maybe what I did was worse.

'No, he deserved it. You were just giving him a taste of his own medicine.' I thought.

I turned off the tv and went outside to go on my run.

When I got back home there I saw my mom trying to get past a bunch of news crew with grocery bags in both hands.

As soon as the reporters saw me they rushed towards me. I wanted to make a run for it. I thought I escaped the life of reporters following me everywhere when everything happened with Corbin.

"Daisy Storm how does it feel to be the one to get Corbin Gone kicked off the NFL?"

I didn't say anything.

"Do you think you could ever forgive him?" Another reporter tried.

"Me forgive Corbin? Yeah only in his dreams." I said shoving past them.

My mom quickly closed and locked door behind me once I made it inside.

"Can you believe them? You'd think they would take a hint but no." I said taking my headphones off.

"Honey I think you need to come in the den."

I looked at her confused before following her.

We came in the den for me to only see two guys in tux sitting on the couch.

"Hi Daisy! I'm Bob. Corbin's former coach and this guy here is Steve we're with the Steelers."

I didn't know what was going on.

"Mom you let them in?"

"No, they got in the house somehow." She said putting her hands up in defense.

"What are you doing here?" I said looking at them.

"We wanted to make a deal with you." Bob said.

"Why?"

"Because Corbin isn't allowed back in the NFL until things are settled with you."

They came here to talk about Corbin. Were they serious????

"Get off my property." I said annoyed.

"The deal is you get back with Corbin and date him until his contract with us is over. We will pay you and we're not going to blackmail you to do it. You can always say no."

"Great because my answer is no." I said quickly.

"It'd be such a shame to let your guys' story just end there with no reconciliation. The ball is in your court Daisy you decide if Corbin ever plays football again. I'll leave my card here if you decide to change your mind." Bob set his card on the coffee table closest to him before looking at Steve and leaving.
