Love, Loss, and a Second Chance Beyond Death”

"I honestly didn’t expect this story to go where it did. The opening starts off very matter-of-fact, but then that line about Stefan falling asleep and never waking up completely changes the direction of this story. This was probably the moment that really caught my attention. What I liked most was Stefan himself. He feels very human, curious, a little cheeky, emotionally attached, and surprisingly calm about things that would probably send most people into complete panic. His relationship with Celine is also clearly the heart of this story, and I could feel that there was genuine love underneath everything else. The part I wanted more of, though, was the emotional transition. A LOT happens in this chapter: the hospital, death, the supernatural rules, learning his abilities, finding Celine, gaining her trust, and eventually becoming more present in her life. I sometimes felt like I was being moved from one major event to the next before I had enough time to really sit with what had just happened. Celine’s reaction was one of the parts I found most interesting. Her fear and hesitation felt believable, especially when Stefan first makes physical contact. I just think her progression from being frightened to becoming completely comfortable with everything could be slowed down a little. I would love to see more of those small moments where trust develops. I also really liked the supernatural side of things. The guides, different realms, abilities, and rules made me curious, but I wanted to see Stefan struggle with those things a little more instead of learning them so quickly. There are some questions here that genuinely made me want to keep reading, especially about the darker souls, the rules, and what exactly Stefan’s existence is going to mean going forward. The writing has a very raw, conversational feeling to it, and honestly, I wouldn't want that completely polished away. It gives Stefan's narration personality. There are definitely grammar, punctuation, wording, and sentence-flow issues that could use another editing pass, but I think those are much easier to fix than the things that give the story its personality. And the ending? “You have me now. You never have to be alone again.” That was the part that stayed with me. Underneath all the supernatural elements and intimacy, I think the strongest story here is really about love, loss, and one person refusing to let death be the end of that connection. My biggest suggestion would be: slow down. Let Stefan process his death. Let Celine process what is happening. Give the relationship more quiet moments between the bigger ones. There is something emotionally interesting here, and I think giving it more breathing room would make those big moments hit much harder."
