Chapter 1 saaim meets Veronika

"Darling, is she awake yet or not?" Oleg asked Marysia.

"Why? What happened?" Marysia replied.

"It's her first day at university. Did you forget already?" Oleg said.

"Don't worry. I'll wake her up."

Marysia walked into Veronika's room. Veronika was standing in front of her mirror, applying blush to her cheeks and running her fingers through her hair while music played softly in the background.

"Honey, I thought you were still sleeping."

"Not at all. Today is my first day at university."

Veronika drove to the university and parked her car. After locking it and slipping the keys into her bag, she headed toward her department.

Suddenly, three seniors stepped in front of her.

Veronika tried to walk past them.

"Hey, you!" one of them called.

She turned around.

"Why are you calling me?"

"So, you're new here?"

"I guess so."

One of the seniors handed her a pen.

"Take this pen and sell it to that guy sitting in the left corner."

"What? Why?"

"We're your seniors. You have to listen to us."

Reluctantly, Veronika took the pen and walked over to the boy.

He had dark brown hair falling over his forehead, a tan complexion, and thick pink lips. He was scrolling through his phone.

"Hello," Veronika said.

The boy looked up.

"Uh, hey. Who are you?"

"I'm Veronika. Today's my first day. Those seniors forced me to sell this pen to you."

The boy smiled.

"I see. Alright then. How much?"

"I don't know. Maybe a dollar?"

"A dollar? Really?"

"Please hurry. I need to get to class."

The boy laughed and handed her a dollar.

"Here you go."

Veronika smiled.

"You're very cute, by the way."

The boy immediately blushed.

"Uh... thanks, I guess."

His eyes lingered on her beautiful emerald eyes.

The boy's name was Saaim.

Coincidentally, he was in the same department as Veronika.

When he entered class, he noticed Veronika sitting quietly in the corner. He wanted to approach her, but before he could, his phone buzzed.

A message.

From his online best friend.

Veronika:

Bro, I'm feeling so confused and sad.

Saaim:

Why? What happened?

Veronika:

Today's my first day at university, and some weird seniors forced me to sell a pen to a cute guy.

Saaim:

Wait... when did this happen?

Veronika:

A few minutes ago.

Saaim froze.

For three years, he had been talking to his online best friend. They had never exchanged photos and had never met.

Now he realized the truth.

The girl he had been chatting with for years was sitting in the same classroom as him.

Veronika.

The girl he had secretly fallen in love with.

Saaim couldn't stop smiling.

He was finally seeing the girl who had become such an important part of his life.

But Veronika had no idea.

Saaim:

So, who was that cute guy?

Veronika:

I don't know, but he's in my class too. He's really cute.

Saaim:

Do you already like him?

Veronika:

I don't know him yet.

But maybe.

Maybe yes.

Saaim's heart raced.

Saaim:

Then go talk to him.

Veronika:

No way!

Saaim:

I think he'll ask you out during break.

Veronika:

How do you know?

Saaim:

I'm a guy. That's why.

During the lecture, the professor asked Veronika to introduce herself.

She stood up.

"Hello everyone. I'm Veronika. Today is my first day here. I hope I adjust well. If I don't... well, I don't really care."

The class laughed.

As she sat down, a handsome student named Shawn smiled at her.

"You're very pretty, by the way."

Saaim's smile disappeared.

He had planned to talk to her during break.

But someone else had already noticed her.

jo987_123: This is a good story, but it needs a good editor to go through this iteration and fix the mistakes. The pov changes from 1st person to 3rd person, often, and sometimes within one sentence.
