The Awakening of Silence
"The story is set in WW1 just after a historic battle for Australian troops. A soldier is wounded and loses his memory. His struggle to remember his name and nationality is a backdrop to personal tragedy involving spies and the dreadful crime of paedophilia. It is a tale of psychological insight coupled with racing light adventure. I didn't want it to finish! The author takes us through this complex tale as if we are experiencing the hero's struggle first hand. The writing style fits the period authentically and makes it more real for the reader. For a debut writer Jack handles these issues with a deft hand. Most impressed. Gordon"
