Chapter 1- The Last Forward
Three weeks later, the world had two populations.
The Reversed: former infected who were now immune, healthy, and completely human again—except they could no longer survive in the normal dimension. Their biology ran backward. They breathed the wrong way. Their blood flowed against gravity’s old rules. They needed the new physics of the Reverse Dimension to stay alive.
The Forward: the uninfected who were still dying. Their bodies rejected the new laws. Every day more of them inverted and died in agony.
Only a handful of people remained truly Forward without collapsing: those who had been exposed to a unique strain of the G-Virus and survived with their polarity intact. Leon was one. Claire Redfield was another. Ada Wong was the third—and she was already working both sides.
The Reverse Dimension wasn’t another world.
It was this world, rewritten from the inside out.
Umbrella’s old laboratories under Raccoon City had become the only stable anchors. The deeper you went, the more the physics flipped. Gravity reversed in certain corridors. Time stuttered.
Sound traveled backward. And somewhere in the lowest sub-level, something was still spreading the inversion.
Leon and Claire met again in the ruins of the old police station, both still Forward, both dying a little more each day.
Claire’s arm had started to reverse at the cellular level. Veins glowed faintly under her skin like reverse lightning. She was running out of time.
“We go down,” she said. “Or we both become Reversed… and then we die when the anchors fail.”
Leon checked his magazine. The bullets still worked the old way. For now.
“Then we go down.”
