Chapter 1
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER: “BLACK WISH”
The night Buffy Summers stopped being the Slayer didn’t come with thunder.
It came with silence.
Not the peaceful kind—the suffocating kind. The kind that pressed against her skull and whispered everything she had ever failed to save.
Joyce.
Giles.
Her friends.
Herself.
The Wish
“I wish,” Buffy said, her voice hollow as the crater of Sunnydale stretched endlessly before her, “I wish I could stop feeling this. I wish I was evil. No soul. No guilt. Forever. No way back.”
The air shifted.
Not violently—subtly. Like reality itself inhaled.
And agreed.
The Turning
It wasn’t like when Angel had lost his soul.
It wasn’t like when Spike had fought to get his.
This was… different.
Buffy didn’t scream.
She smiled.
Her heartbeat slowed. Then stopped.
Her eyes opened again—no warmth, no hesitation, no humanity clawing beneath the surface.
Just hunger.
Just clarity.
Just freedom.
The Rejection
They found her before sunrise.
Willow first.
Then Xander.
Dawn.
And finally—Joyce.
Buffy stood among the ruins, blood staining her lips, a dead vampire at her feet—not dusted. Torn apart. Brutally.
“Buffy…” Willow whispered, already shaking. “We can fix this. We’ve fixed worse.”
Buffy tilted her head.
“No,” she said simply. “You can’t.”
Joyce stepped forward, voice breaking. “Baby… come home.”
Buffy looked at her.
Really looked.
And for a split second—just a flicker—
Something almost human passed behind her eyes.
Then it died.
“I’m not your baby anymore.”
The words hit harder than any blow.
Xander stepped in front of the others. “You don’t mean that.”
Buffy smiled wider.
“I mean everything now.”
The Second Wish
The rejection wasn’t loud.
It wasn’t dramatic.
They didn’t fight her.
They didn’t try to understand her.
They shunned her.
Turned their backs.
Like she was already dead.
Buffy watched them leave.
And something twisted.
Not guilt.
Not sadness.
Something darker.
Something angrier.
“Fine,” she murmured to the empty crater. “You don’t want me?”
Her eyes darkened further.
“I wish I could never go back. Never be human again. Never have a soul forced on me. No curse. No loopholes. No redemption.”
The wind howled.
Reality answered again.
This time, it sealed her fate.
Giles
Ruins of the Magic Box.
Dust and broken glass.
Giles stood alone when she entered.
“I was wondering when you’d come,” he said quietly.
Buffy stepped into the light, her expression almost fond.
“You always did know me best.”
“I know what you are,” he corrected.
She laughed.
“No. You knew what I was.”
He stepped closer.
“Then let me remind you.”
He reached for a cross.
She didn’t flinch.
Didn’t burn.
Didn’t react.
Giles froze.
“That’s not—”
“Possible?” Buffy finished, smiling.
She moved faster than thought.
Her hand wrapped around his throat.
“Second wish,” she whispered.
His eyes widened—not in fear.
In understanding.
“Buffy…”
For the first time since turning, her expression softened.
Just slightly.
“Goodbye, Giles.”
Snap.
She let his body fall.
And didn’t look back.
The New Scooby Gang
They didn’t find her.
She found them.
One by one.
Spike—in a dive bar halfway across the world.
He knew immediately.
“Slayer,” he said, smirking. “You finally snapped.”
She kissed him before he could say another word.
It wasn’t soft.
It was possession.
Violence.
Recognition.
“You’re mine now,” she told him.
He grinned.
“Been waitin’ on that.”
Drusilla—whispering in shadows.
“Oh, she’s broken the stars,” Dru sang. “She’s turned the world wrong-side out.”
Buffy took her hand.
“Stay,” she said.
Dru giggled.
“I always do.”
Harmony—lost, drifting, still desperate for belonging.
Buffy didn’t mock her.
Didn’t control her.
Just said, “You can stay if you want.”
Harmony blinked.
“You’re… not gonna boss me around?”
Buffy shrugged.
“Why would I? You’re useful as you are.”
Harmony beamed.
“Oh, my God. I love you.”
Wesley—no longer the bumbling Watcher.
He saw potential.
Power.
A Slayer unbound by morality.
“I could train you,” he offered carefully.
Buffy smirked.
“Try to keep up.”
Lorne—the only one who hesitated.
“You’re off-key, sweetheart,” he told her softly. “Way off.”
Buffy tilted her head.
“Still love me?”
Lorne sighed.
“Like a daughter.”
“Good,” she said. “Then stay.”
He did.
Angel—
That was… complicated.
“You killed him,” Angel said, voice low, when he saw Giles’ death through whispers and blood trails.
“Yes,” Buffy replied simply.
“You’re gone.”
“I’m free.”
He hated how much she believed that.
Hated how much of him still… wanted her.
Willow—
The last to join.
Not willingly.
Not at first.
But magic doesn’t follow rules forever.
And grief bends people.
“You can’t fix me,” Buffy told her.
Willow’s hands trembled.
“I don’t want to fix you.”
Buffy raised an eyebrow.
“I want to understand you.”
That was enough.
The New Order
They called themselves nothing.
They didn’t need a name.
But others whispered it anyway:
The Black Scoobies.
Buffy ruled without a throne.
Without a crown.
Just presence.
Demons followed.
Vampires gathered.
Minions multiplied.
Not out of fear.
Out of awe.
Faith
The only Slayer who didn’t come for her.
Faith leaned against a wall, watching Buffy tear through a nest of hunters.
“Damn, B,” she said. “You really went all in.”
Buffy wiped blood from her mouth.
“Not joining the crusade?”
Faith smirked.
“Nah. World’s always been screwed. You just stopped pretending otherwise.”
Buffy stepped closer.
“You could stand with me.”
Faith considered it.
Then shook her head.
“Not your enemy. Not your soldier either.”
Buffy smiled.
“Fair.”
Angel’s Jealousy
It hit him slowly.
Watching her with Spike.
The ease.
The lack of guilt.
The freedom he’d never had.
“She doesn’t love you,” Angel snapped.
Spike laughed.
“She doesn’t have to, mate.”
Buffy wrapped her arm around Spike’s neck, pulling him close.
“I chose him.”
Angel’s jaw tightened.
“That’s not love.”
“No,” Buffy agreed. “It’s better.”
Willow’s Discovery
Magic changed things.
Even rules.
Even souls.
“I can’t restore hers,” Willow admitted.
“But… I can anchor one.”
Angel frowned.
“What does that mean?”
“It means,” Willow said slowly, “a soul that can’t be lost.”
Spike looked intrigued.
Buffy looked… curious.
“Do it,” she said.
Spike didn’t hesitate.
“Alwayswase a bit jealous of the poof,” he muttered.
The ritual burned.
Twisted.
Locked something deep inside him.
Not redemption.
Not weakness.
Just… permanence.
Spike exhaled.
“Well,” he said. “That’s new.”
Buffy smiled.
“Good. You’re not going anywhere.”
The War Begins
The Slayers came.
All of them.
Every corner of the world.
Every girl awakened.
Every weapon drawn.
They didn’t see Buffy.
They saw a monster.
They weren’t wrong.
Buffy stood at the front of her army.
Spike at her side.
Willow behind her, magic crackling.
Angel watching, torn between love and horror.
Harmony practically bouncing with excitement.
Wesley calm, calculating.
Lorne… quietly grieving.
Across the battlefield—
Slayers.
Dozens.
Hundreds.
All ready to kill her.
Buffy smiled.
Not the girl.
Not the hero.
Something else entirely.
“Come on then,” she said softly.
“Let’s see who survives me.”
And somewhere, buried so deep it no longer mattered—
The last fragment of Buffy Summers
Stayed silent.
Forever.
