Mika's Life
I walk through the door from school and sling my bag down and flop on the couch. I look around my apartment. It was a complete mess. I look at the ramen noodle cups on the table making sure they were empty. I push them on the floor and start grabbing my books out my bag. I start studying. My phone starts ringing. I sigh as I answer.
Me: Yes, Leon.
Leon: What are you doing right now?
Me: Studying.
I pull a box of pocky out my bag and start munching on them.
Leon: Get the pocky out your mouth.
Me: It's brain food!
Leon: It' not!
Me: Why did you call idiot?!
Leon: I can't worry about my little sister?!
Me: Not when your gonna yell at me.
He lets out a sigh.
Leon: Mika, you're the only family I have left, and you know I'm going to worry about you.
I turn to look at the photo of our parents on my dresser. They had passed a few years ago on a boating accident. I sigh.
Me: I know big brother.
Leon: I'm currently on a business trip. I'm having a food delivered to your place. I know you're working on ramen.
I look around then towards my cabinet. I sigh.
Me: I am.
Leon: Well, this should last you until I get back in a few weeks.
Me: Thank you.
Leon: Anything for you. Now study hard and good luck on your stream tonight. I'll be watching.
Me: Thanks, big brother.
I hang up the phone. He always looked out for me. He had a fancy corporate job, so he was basically putting me through school, paying for my housing and bills, and keeping me in decent food. I wanted to make him proud. I set an alarm and study until it goes off.
Me: Alrighty.
I head to the bathroom and shower. I throw on a black tank top and my favorite black hoodie and hang it off my shoulder some. I apply my makeup and head into my room. The only area that wasn't a mess was my gaming area. Maybe a few Monsters or Starbucks double shot cans but that was it. Just as I get ready to start my stream the doorbell rings. I run to the door and check the peephole. they had a bunch of bags so I could only assume his was the food order my brother got me.
Delivery driver: Order for Mika Mendez?
Me: Yeah, that's me.
They hand me the bags. I get ready to close the door when he has two cases of monster and two cases of Starbucks.
Me: Holy crap!
Delivery driver: Where do you want me to put them?
Me: Right there is fine.
They set the cases down.
Me: I'm sorry I don't have any cash to tip you.
Their phone goes off. They turn to me and smile.
Delivery driver: I just got my tip thanks.
I close the door. My brother was clearly tracking the order. I grab a couple of each and head to my room and put some in the mini fridge behind me. I get my mic in position and open up all my apps and systems. I make sure my camera is angled right. I get in my signature pose. I prop my knee up and start the stream.
Me: Hey cuties! Thanks for joining my stream tonight!
I hold up my peace sign and make a kiss at the camera.
Me: What are my cuties in the mood for tonight? Survival horror? MMORPG? Or just watch me make some boys cry in call of Duty?
I'm reading the chat comments. I see my brother's name show up on my viewer list.
Me: Before, I starts I want to thank my endorser, Leon Mendez. Thanks big bro.
Comments flood in saying how sweet he is and asking if he's single. I smile and cover my face.
Me: Want me to find out?
I keep reading the comments and laugh.
Me: Ok! Ok! I'll call him.
I call Leon and he picks up. I put it on speaker.
Me: Hey big bro.
Leon: Little sis.
Me: My fans want to know if you're single.
I hear him laugh. I lean forward in my chair.
Me: Big bro don't leave my cuties hanging. tell me.
Leon: I am single.
I cover my mouth.
Me: You heard it from his mouth cuties. And thanks for the energy drinks.
Leon: Anything for you. Now get back to your stream. Love you.
Me: Love you too.
I hang up.
Me: Do I not have the best big brother or now.?
I see a new sub come through.
Me: I just got a new cutie. Thanks for the sub Coleblooded.
Two more subs come through.
Me: Three new cuties in just a minute! Wow! Thanks for the sub Prissyprincess and C_Block 89.
I look at the name again and start laughing.
Me: That's clever. Alright well since most cuties are interested in my brother, I'll pick the game tonight, so I'll do survival horror. Hope I don't have nightmares.
I pop open a monster and start playing 7 days to die. I look between the game and the comments. After a few hours of me talking to the viewers, giving shout outs, and gaming, I get ready to end the stream.
Me: Alright well that's all for tonight cuties. I have school in the morning. I see you all tomorrow night.
I put my peace sign up again and give another kiss. I end the stream. I take my headphones off and throw them down. My phone rings. I answer.
Leon: You did great tonight.
Me: I hate doing this.
Leon: No you don't.
Me: I don't.
Leon: I really wish you would just be yourself.
Me: I am myself.
Leon: "Hey cuties" is not you. Wearing makeup is not you.
Me: I'm nobody without it.
Leon: Who cares?! You love gaming! If they can't except than then they're not real fans.
Me: I can't do that Leon.
He sighs.
Leon: I hate how stubborn you are. Whatever you decide just remember your big brother is your biggest supporter and I'm one phone call away.
I smile.
Me: I know.
Leon: Now get some sleep. Love you.
Me: I will. Love you.
I hang up the phone and get ready for bed. I wipe the makeup off my face and throw the pile of dirty clothes on the floor. I climb in bed and end up spending two hours trying to get to sleep after playing that game.
