Chapter 1
I have exactly 49 days to save the Oak Creek Softball team, and the only thing standing in my way is a 6ft something idiot who never takes anything seriously.
It all started on a Friday during 7th period. I was in Advanced Calculus when the speakers suddenly crackled to life.
"Will anyone on the Softball or Baseball team please report to my office," Mr.Vance's voice said, "Immediately."
"We'll that can't be good," a voice from the back said. But I knew that voice all too well. Kace Woods. Captain of the Baseball team and the most immature person I've ever met. Yet somehow he's loved by all. Heck even my dad likes him, and my dad doesn't like anyone.
But as much as I didn't want to admit it he was probably right. Nothing. I mean nothing good ever comes from being called to the principal's office. I swear if someone left the dugout unlocked and a racoon got in again I was going to lose it!
"C'mon, let's go Sage," Blake says. Blake had been my best friend since Kindergarten when she shared her cookie with me. "I wonder what this is all about," I say to her while packing up. "I don't know. Hey, maybe we're all getting a pizza party to end the year or something," she says jokingly. I roll my eyes at the thought. Ridiculous is what she is. Absolutely ridiculous.
As we were walking to the office we just happened run into Cole.
Cole James.
My crush since freshman year. He was stupid cute. He was the only boy who'd ever made me stumble over my words. I mean, how could I not? He had ridiculously blue eyes, and freckles that looks like stardust.
"Oh, uh hi Cole. Funny running into you here," I said nervously. "What do you mean? Aren't you two going to the office also?" He asks. "Ofcourse we are. I think she's just nervous we're all in trouble or something," Blake tells him covering for my stupidity.
"Well...let's go before we get in trouble," I say to them both finally coming back to my senses. After we start on our way Blake gives me the look. The "ohhh you like him look." Of course she does.
Finally we reach the door to Mr.Vance's office. I grab the door handle and push inside already expecting the worst.
