Chapter 1 - New home, weird encounter

It's a sunny Saturday morning. You and your parents were moving out. You weren't really happy about it because you had a lot of friends and memories there, but you had no choice.

Your name is [name], and you worked part-time at a restaurant with your friend, which you had to quit because you were moving out and switching schools. Everything was exhausting. You had a lot of money to live wherever you wanted, but you decided to go with the old house and maybe use the money that you saved along the way to keep yourself at home rather than looking for a job immediately.

[7:56]

Wednesday morning, you both started your journey. Headphones in your ears, you heard your parents chatting about something you didn't focus on because you were listening to music. Or probably because you didn't care.

It was a far-long drive, mostly with you or your mom drifting to sleep and waking up thinking you'd arrived.

[9:26]

It was evening, close to your destination, but your parents wanted a well-rested journey, so they booked a room from the nearest motel you could find. You were exhausted and actually agreed.

[11:03]

You were already lying in bed. There were two beds provided, so it was comfortable for you.

[8:07]

You were back on the road, and the unfamiliar environment was so beautiful that it made you feel less upset about the whole thing that was going on.

[15:04]

You've arrived at your destination. The environment was quiet and friendly. You walked midway through your dad's calling. Your dad called out to you, telling you to help him get the house keys from your landlord.

"Landlord?" you asked, raising an eyebrow. "I can't... I don't know where he lives. Remember, it's my first time being here."

You stepped closer to your dad.

"Maybe you could describe his place," you suggested.

You got the description and headed to his place. You expected there was a bit of difficulty, and it was. The houses looked alike. You stared at each house over and over again until you finally walked to one you were sure it was, specifically because you recognized that it was "you guessed."

Before you could process what you were doing, you opened the door... without knocking.

The door was opened widely, revealing a guy your age. You both stared at each other for a while, and when you were about to speak, he cut you off.

"What do you want? Don't you think it's nice to barge into other people's houses without permission?"

His voice was cold and dismissive, yet it held a hint of anger.

You just stood there, shocked and frozen. For the first time in your life, you couldn't respond back to somebody. You remembered the person, and when you finally called yourself together, ready to reply, you said,

"Sorry?"

He slammed the door shut. The sound echoed in your ears.

(What the heck?)

You were one minute from crashing out, but you heard a familiar voice. It was your dad, and he was shaking the keys in his hands. You walked to him, apologized to him with a sheepish grin “Sorry, I forgot the exact place you sent me to” “It’s okay, let's get going” he reassured you. You turned around to the direction he was heading, your mom was standing there. You passed the guy's house, eyeing the door like he could see you through it. Just like you expected it your house was right next to his, “Dad, is that our house or…” you questioned him knowing damn well that it was it, “Yes, you don't like it?” “what? No I love it, it's really pretty and bigger compared to our old place. I could never hate anything you give to me”

Your dad nods and pats your shoulders "That's why I love you, plus when you get to see the inside trust me, you will love it more and it's more spacious” “That’s cool” you turned to your mum, “Let me help you with that” You said walking to her to give her a hand. Soon you all were done packing the boxes into the house.

[17:34]

You were cleaning something in the kitchen, your dad was in the living room sitting on the sofa and you were in your room which is obviously bigger than the last one. A smile tugs on your lips, you well knew that your parents chose this house because of you, the room was chill and empty, from your point of view it looked boring. You already made up your mind to arrange it tomorrow.

You were back downstairs, sat on the couch, brought out your phone and relaxed. By the end of the day, your parents

ordered food and that was it.

Welcome to your new home.
