Chapter 1
MESSENGERS OF PURIFICATION
Chapter 1
He received a letter in the mail with no name and no address. He paid little attention to it and placed it on his desk.
He had not received a letter through the mail for a long time. He relied mostly on text messages and email.
He looked at his watch. “Oh… it’s ten at night. I’m late again!”
He quickly left his office, got into his car, and hurried to his appointment with his doctor, who had told him that he needed to rest in order to recover from the shock of losing his two sons in a plane crash.
The accident had happened two years ago, but he had never forgotten what happened. Their painful deaths had deeply affected him.
He suffered greatly from disturbing dreams that visited him every night.
In his dreams, the same scene repeated itself: the plane crashing and the bodies being taken out. He would see his two sons as bodies, then suddenly they would speak to him and ask him for help. He would wake up terrified, unable to go back to sleep.
“You’re late for your appointment again,” the doctor said. He was an old friend of his.
“I can no longer keep track of time,” he replied.
“I told you that you need a long break from everything. You need to rest, but you keep exhausting yourself with work. Have you taken your medicine? You never care about your health!”
He did not answer or argue with him. He knew very well that he was no longer the same person. He lived each day without pleasure or enjoyment, racing against time to escape the pain of losing his sons.
