Summary

Una historia inspirada en House of the Dragon, los libros de A Song of Ice and Fire y también en experiencias de mi propia vida.(está casi todo cambiado aviso) Durante décadas, el rey Josaerys I Targaryen ha gobernado los Siete Reinos. Pero cuando llega el momento de decidir quién heredará el Trono de Hierro, una elección dentro de la familia comenzará a cambiar el destino de todo Poniente. La Casa Targaryen y la antigua Casa Rhaevor, ambas vinculadas a la sangre de la antigua Valyria, terminarán enfrentándose en un conflicto que irá mucho más allá de una disputa por la corona. La sucesión


Episodio I: 126 d.C. — Rocadragón

Durante noventa años, el rey Josaerys I Targaryen había llevado la corona. A sus noventa años, su cabello era completamente blanco y los años comenzaban a pesar sobre él. Sin embargo, su mente permanecía firme.

Aquella mañana, ordenó reunir a sus seis hijos en la sala del consejo.

Sus hijos entraron uno a uno: Maerylos, Jaevyron, Patryon, Naelor, Daevora y Vaeronys.

Josaerys los observó en silencio durante unos instantes.

—los he llamado porque ha llegado el momento de hablar de algo que ningún rey puede evitar para siempre.

Maerylos frunció el ceño.

—¿Nuestra sucesión?

Josaerys asintió lentamente.

—Así es. Mi reinado se acerca a su final, y quiero que mi sucesor sea elegido mientras todavía puedo hacerlo ante todos nosotros.

La sala quedó en silencio.

—Maerylos —dijo el rey—. Eres mi hijo mayor. ¿Aceptarías llevar la corona después de mí?

Maerylos negó con la cabeza.

—No, padre. Nunca he deseado gobernar.

Josaerys dirigió entonces la mirada hacia Jaevyron.

—¿Y tú?

—Tampoco, Majestad. Mi lugar no está en el trono.

El rey continuó preguntando a sus hijos. Patryon y Naelor también rechazaron la corona.

Entonces Josaerys miró a Daevora.

—¿Y tú, hija mía?

Daevora bajó la mirada.

—Padre, tampoco deseo la corona. Tengo otras responsabilidades y no creo ser la persona adecuada.

Finalmente, el rey dirigió sus ojos hacia su última hija.

Vaeronys permanecía en silencio.

—Vaeronys.

Ella levantó la mirada.

—¿Sí, padre?

Josaerys respiró profundamente.

—Si te ofreciera la corona, ¿aceptarías convertirte en mi heredera?

Vaeronys permaneció unos segundos en silencio.

—Si es vuestro deseo, padre… aceptaré.

Josaerys sonrió ligeramente.

—Entonces que todos sean testigos.

El rey se puso de pie con dificultad.

—Vaeronys Targaryen será mi sucesora y, algún día, llevará la corona de los Siete Reinos.

Los presentes guardaron silencio.

Aquella decisión parecía sencilla.

Pero nadie en aquella sala podía saber cuánto cambiaría el futuro de la Casa Targaryen…
