The Weight of Sight (Book 1 of The Sight Series)

Summary

Nixara—Nix to anyone brave enough to get close—has always lived with a terrifying secret: she can see curses. For as long as she can remember, she never understood why she was the odd one out, why she couldn't protect people, or why everyone around her branded her a freak for trying to warn them. After losing her mother at seventeen, Nix is forced to move to Japan to live with her uncle, hoping for a clean slate and a fresh beginning. Instead, she finds the very same monsters waiting for her. Except in Tokyo, the curses aren't just figments of her imagination—and she isn't the only one who can see them. When a chance encounter with a powerful sorcerer changes her life forever, Nix suddenly has the tools and the training to finally protect people the way she’s always wanted. But stepping into a hidden world of supernatural warfare brings a terrifying new question: is finally belonging a blessing, or is it just another curse?

Author's Note

This fanfiction is based on the Anime and Manga Jujutsu Kaisen. I do not own any of the characters except for Nyxara Wane and other OCs that may or may not be in the book as the book moves forward.

This book will follow the anime’s timeline, but will not strictly be based on it, so it may contain spoilers. Please note: For the sake of the story’s pacing—since Nyx is coming straight from America—all characters will speak English to bypass the language barrier.

There is a trigger warning list below. This is just to cover the basics to protect readers’ mental health. If any of these triggers may be upsetting for you, that is okay, and I strongly suggest reviewing them to see if this is the story for you. If a heavy trigger warning is going to be present in a specific chapter, there will be a reminder at the top. As always, a big thank you for reading The Weight of Sight! Please enjoy!

Note on Visuals: The character collage for Nyx was built using AI, referencing an initial photo found on Pinterest where the original artist could not be located. While some images in this book may be generated with AI, the book itself is solely from the human mind, written by me. Any scenes or characters from the anime or manga belong to their original artists!

I DO NOT OWN THE CHARACTERS FROM JUJUTSU KAISEN.

Faerah: A really good idea of a storyline that has so much more potential. In the two week delay, the second week has no depth and could have been better dramatized with at least two of the three agreed meetings occurring, less time spent away with Mia and more time spent with indifference and contradictio...
