Chapter One; Hook and First Chapter
Chapter One; Hook and First Chapter
She sat on the bed; her wavy long ginger hair covered her eyes, you could tell she was distressed.
Her long nails stabbed into her arm, she held herself.
She's not better.
The man who she loved sighed and dropped himself to his knees before her. He took her hand that stabbed her arm and kissed her hand.
"I'm sorry" She let out in a whisper. He shook his head; he already predicted her apology before. He laid his head on her lap.
This was before.
Her name was Amber Lee. She wasn't popular, but neither loner either.
Instead, she was the friend who was there, but never fitted in. It's not like it mattered; She was the therapist. It was never noticed if she was gone.
She knew most of everyone's secrets, everyone talked to her about their problems. Somehow, she had no desire to ever use it against them or tell it.
Amber was the sibling of two others. She wasn't the oldest nor the youngest. She was the middle, never the favourite or first choice. She'd never admit it, but she never really liked herself. Even if there were many reasons to do so.
Like her long gorgeous curly hair that hung to her diamond waist, or her soft shimmer like greyish-green eyes others used to adore. She hated how pale her skin was, others would near-always comment or point out how ghostly or ill she'd look.
After a long few years of this, she started to cover up most of her skin. She'd wear a hat for her face, long baggy trousers, sometimes jeans for her pale legs. With how it bagged over her, it always covered her shape. The main thing was always an oversized hoodie. She loved them. They were warm, long, soft and comfortable.
They, however, covered another issue of hers. Amber was fourteen when she had her first breakdown. She hid it in so much it suffocated her until she let it out. Mental pain hurts, physical pain directs the pain somewhere you can pinpoint and distracts. Physical pain is mostly temporary in cases. Her arms were covered in bruises and cuts that she'd done to herself.
It first was a let out. Then a "one-time thing", to "this is the last time". It soon became her peace.
She never actually had any idealization or plans on killing herself.
Her life wasn't good, but it also wasn't bad. She was mainly ignored.
Amber was actually good at many things, yet it was never noticed. She aced every grade she'd ever have. She was good at all subjects and was in the progress of learning as many languages as she could and was good at using both hands in normal day life.
Amber Lee got her first boyfriend when she was fifteen, they never broke up. His name was Nathen Bennett, Nate for short. He found about her secret near half a year into their relationship.
Things weren't at all as bad then. Soon rumors had started all because she told a teacher a cheated-on test her popular sister has done. Soon everything was brought around her, and her alone.
Everyone knew she was in a relationship with Nate, and not one person talked about it at first. Not until her sister, who was quite the gossiper made some half-arsed shit up about her.

I understand Amber's pain...😭
