IT STARTED 23💫
Sometimes, the most important people in our lives enter in the most ordinary ways.
I still remember how we first started talking.
It was during COVID, when all our college classes were online. I wasn't properly added to our department group, and because it was our first class, I didn't even have the notes.
I don't know why, but I count till 23 and stop on his number.. without saw him..!
23 has always been my lucky number, so I just picked it without thinking much about it.
I had no idea that someone else would notice it.
But he did.
That's how I first caught his attention.
I don't remember exactly what made me message him. Maybe I needed something related to the class, or maybe I just wanted to talk. Whatever the reason was, I sent him a message.
At first, it was completely normal.
We talked about college, classes, notes, and random little things. Nothing felt special in the beginning.
But after a few days, we started talking more.
Then a little more.
And somehow, without either of us really noticing, our conversations became something I looked forward to.
We got comfortable with each other.
We started sharing little things about our days, making stupid jokes, and talking about things that didn't really matter but somehow made the conversations last longer.
Then one day, he called me.
That phone call became the beginning of something I never expected.
He later told me that he had started falling for my voice before he had even properly seen me.
I still find that a little funny.
I mean, who falls in love with someone's voice first? 😂
But that was him.
And that was us.
There wasn't some dramatic first meeting.
There wasn't a movie-like moment where we looked at each other and suddenly knew.
It started with a number.
23.
Then a message.
Then a few conversations.
Then a phone call.
And slowly, without us even realising it, we became close.
I honestly don't remember the exact moment when friendship became feelings.
There wasn't a particular day when I thought, Okay, now I'm in love.
It just happened.
Naturally.
One day, I simply realised that he had become important to me.
Really important.
We spent almost three years of our graduation together.
We studied together, met almost every day, talked for hours, laughed at stupid things, and shared so many ordinary moments.
Looking back now, those ordinary moments are some of the ones I miss the most.
He became the person I wanted to tell everything to.
If something funny happened, I wanted to tell him.
If I was upset, I wanted to talk to him.
If I had to study, I wanted him around.
Even the smallest things somehow felt better when I could share them with him.
He wasn't just my boyfriend anymore.
He had slowly become a part of my everyday life.
And I think that's why losing the old version of our relationship later hurt so much.
Because I wasn't only losing a person.
I was losing a routine.
A friendship.
A comfort.
A version of myself that existed when everything between us still felt simple.
But back then, I didn't know any of that was coming.
I didn't know that one day I would look back at those years and wonder how something that once felt so safe could become so complicated.
At that time, I was just happy.
I had chosen 23 because it was my lucky number.
I never imagined that it would somehow lead me to one of the most important people in my life.
And that...
was how our story began. ❤️
