Bipolar: Letters to Myself

All Rights Reserved ©

Summary

*ONGOING* I was diagnosed with BPD type 1 in 2023. This, when completed, will be a collection of poems about thoughts and things that come to mind when thinking back on my time in psychiatric hospitals, and some of the darker periods in my life. But this collection is also about hope, about never giving up. No matter how dark things can get, there's always light on the other side.

Introduction

I wanted to give a little background to this collection of poems. My name is Liam, and I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder type 1 in 2023. I have been in and out of psychiatric hospitals, and dealing with dark thoughts constantly but writing has always been my escape. I wanted to write a small collection of poems, and thoughts that come to my mind, to maybe help others and show you’re not alone. Even without bipolar disorder it’s easy to feel isolated, but just know that you aren’t alone in your struggles. There’s always someone else out there who’s struggling as well, who feels just as alone as you do and if you take one thing away from this small collection of poems, let it be hope. That’s what I believe makes humans truly special: the ability to carry on even when we feel at our lowest. I hope that one day things will get better, and nonetheless I will keep writing.

Let Liam know what you thought about this chapter!

Theresa: I like the story very much but she needs to be consistent with names is Axel's wolf's name Mace or Halo? Is his gamma to be Don or Dan? But to be fare, she's not the only one to do it. I get confused when authors changes theirr character:s name in the middle of the story.
