My reign of elements (Avatar x OC)

Summary

Velo, a thirteen-year-old Water Tribe boy, discovers an ancient metal artifact in his possession: the Avatar Gauntlet. The gauntlet is an ancient wrist brace said to have been created long ago as a weapon for the Avatar's champions. Rather than giving its user traditional bending, it allows Velo to transform into five powerful elemental forms: water, fire, earth, air, and electricity. The strange part is that Velo is almost the exact opposite of what one would expect from someone carrying such a powerful weapon. He's shy, nervous, polite, extremely cautious, and a strict rule follower. He's easily frightened and would generally prefer avoiding a fight altogether. Yet the gauntlet chose him because, beneath his fear, Velo possesses enormous courage. When his friends are threatened, he'll force himself to stand up—even when every part of him wants to run away.

Bio

Velo

Age: 13

Gender: Male

Nation: Southern Water Tribe

Bending: Unknown

Role: Member of Team Avatar; Chosen User of the Avatar Gauntlet

Personality

Velo is one of the gentlest members of Team Avatar.

Despite being the chosen wielder of an incredibly powerful artifact, Velo is extremely timid, nervous, and easily frightened.

He's sweet, polite, well-meaning, and almost painfully sincere. Velo tends to assume that everyone is acting in good faith, even when it's painfully obvious they're not. He'll happily help a stranger carry their bags, rescue an injured animal, or apologize when someone else bumps into him.

He's also a strict rule follower.

If Katara says, "We shouldn't go in there," Velo is already backing away.

If Sokka says, "Don't touch that," Velo won't even look at it.

If Aang suggests sneaking somewhere, Velo immediately starts listing all the rules they're breaking.

He's constantly worried about getting himself or his friends into trouble.

Velo is not stupid or incapable. In fact, he's surprisingly intelligent. His fear simply gets in the way of his confidence.

He tends to panic first and think second.

However, when someone he loves is in danger, something changes.

He becomes terrified and acts anyway.

That's what makes him brave.

Appearance

Velo is a short, slightly pudgy thirteen-year-old with a round face, large expressive eyes, and messy dark hair.

He usually wears traditional Water Tribe clothing underneath a simple traveling cloak.

His most distinctive feature is the Avatar Gauntlet, a metallic wrist brace permanently worn around his left arm.

The gauntlet looks somewhat uncomfortable and ancient, with intricate patterns engraved into the metal. Five symbols representing the elements are etched around its surface.

Velo initially hates how noticeable it is.

Velo:?Couldn't the magical ancient weapon have been a necklace?

The Avatar Gauntlet

The Avatar Gauntlet is an ancient metal wrist brace that somehow recognized Velo as its chosen user.

It grants him access to five elemental forms, each transforming his body into a different elemental warrior.

Unlike the Avatar, Velo doesn't actually gain traditional bending of all four elements. The gauntlet temporarily transforms him into one of its five elemental forms.
