The Blessed Woman
The woman had been blessed with magic at the best possible time in her life, childbirth. She didn’t feel pain and her injuries healed instantly from the birth. With her new skills she need not worry about: physically maintaining a clean home, healthy food and protection from evil men for her and her child, a way to make good coin, anything at all. Her love for her child and herself grew each day. As did her magic. She didn't know who the child's father was, nor did she care. Until her child had grown and the voice of her god spoke to her through them. And all her blessings were in jeopardy to be taken if she didn't journey the plains and do her gods bidding. She begged her god not to be without her child, that she would make this voyage only if her child could come. Her child laughed as deep as the ocean, loud as claps of thunder as they responded, "when has your god ever abandonded you?"
