The Arrival & The Driver
Chapter 1: The Arrival & The Driver
It was a hot late-summer afternoon when Tisha and I touched down in Dallas after a two-and-a-half-hour flight. I’d always admired her hustle for finding free corporate training, so when she pitched joining her for this out-of-town conference, I jumped at the chance. Walking through the bustling airport terminal, neither of us cared about the crowds—we were out of the office for the entire week.
After retrieving our luggage, we headed straight for the rental car counters. I stood back while Tisha approached the desk, but within two minutes, she threw her hands up in frustration.
“Damn it!” she yelled, turning back toward me. “Every single company is completely booked out.”
After flying across the country, that was the exact moment a cold spike of fear hit my chest. No car in a city this big?
Tisha walked back over, scrolling through her phone. “Maybe we try an Uber?”
“Sure,” I replied, trying to shake off the sudden wave of stress. “Whatever gets us to the hotel.”
Ten minutes later, a slick dark sedan pulled up to the curb. The driver rolled down his window, flashing a dazzling, perfect white smile.
“Hi, I’m Jerrod,” he said, his voice deep and smooth as he stepped out to grab our bags.
My God, what a fucking smile, was all I could think. When he reached out to introduce himself, his hand was massive and his grip was firm—one of his hands could easily hold both of mine. As he loaded our luggage into the trunk, I could feel his eyes lingering on us, taking in every detail.
I instantly felt the urge to show him a snapshot of what was hiding under the heavy jacket tied around my waist. I unknotted the denim jacket, letting it drop over my arm.
Tisha caught the move instantly and mumbled under her breath, “Okay... I guess it’s gonna be that type of week, huh?”
I stopped dead in my tracks, placed one hand on my hip, and pulled out my sweetest innocent voice. “What in the world are you talking about?”
Tisha did exactly what I knew she would—she let her eyes drop down toward my waistline, making sure Jerrod’s gaze followed hers right down to the curve of my hips. Satisfied with the reaction, I turned and slid directly into the back seat, leaving Tisha to take the front passenger seat right next to Jerrod.
As we pulled out of the airport traffic, Jerrod glanced up at the rearview mirror. “So... where are y’all from?”
“Atlanta,” Tisha answered.
“What about you?” I asked, leaning forward slightly between the two front seats.
“L.A. originally,” he said. “But I’ve been living in Dallas for about ten years now.”
“So how old are you, Jerrod?” I teased.
“Twenty-five.”
Tisha chuckled, shaking her head. “You’re a baby.”
“That I am,” Jerrod replied with a slow, confident grin.
“Definitely don’t look like one,” I mumbled under my breath.
Jerrod smiled and peeked directly into the rearview mirror. Our eyes locked in the glass for a long, heavy second. At that exact moment, a sudden wave of heat rushed straight between my thighs, making my pussy instantly moist against my shorts. The air in the car suddenly felt ten degrees warmer.
Fifteen minutes later, Jerrod pulled into the hotel driveway and put the car in park. “We have arrived. Welcome to Dallas, ladies. If y’all need anything else this week, let me know.”
As the engine idled, my heart began to beat faster. I wanted him to see my body again. I unbuckled my seatbelt, deliberately shifting my weight so he’d get a full view of the shape of my ass as I climbed out of the backseat.
Jerrod walked around to the trunk and handed me my luggage. Before I could say a word, Tisha stepped up beside him with her phone out. “Hey, let’s exchange numbers so we can all hang out sometime this week.”
Jerrod reached for her phone, his eyes flicking over to me with a smirk. “Sure.”
As we walked into the grand hotel lobby, I leaned over to Tisha and whispered, “Damn... he is so fine.”
Tisha laughed, hitting me with a sharp, knowing nod. “Yep. That’s why you need to fuck him this week.”
“Whatever, Tisha,” I said, trying to play it cool. “Let's just check in and relax before dinner.”
When we reached the front desk, Tisha’s expression instantly soured as she stared down at her phone screen.
“What the fuck...” she muttered. “They booked us a single room with double beds?”
“Who is 'they'?” I asked.
“The secretary back at the office. I hate that bitch.”
I patted her shoulder. “Well, we’ll figure it out. It’s only a few days.”
“Yeah... I guess you’re right,” she sighed.
We took the elevator up and opened the door to our room. The view of the Dallas skyline was incredible. Tisha immediately called dibs on the window bed, and we both collapsed onto our separate mattresses, eyes glued to our phones.
Exhausted from travel, I ended up dozing off for a couple of hours. But when I woke up, it was to the sound of Tisha having a hushed, intense conversation on her phone. She was talking to an old friend who happened to be in Dallas, explaining that she didn't have her own private room, so he couldn't come up just yet.
I waved at her from across the room and whispered, “Who the fuck is that?”
She covered the receiver and whispered back, “Just a friend, nobody serious.”
I listened for another minute, sensing she needed privacy to handle her business. I gestured toward the door, signaling that I was heading down to the hotel bar for a few hours to catch up on some work. She nodded, smiling. “Okay, cool. When you come back up, just text me first, please.”
“Got it. I’ll give you a heads up.”
After sitting at the bar for about twenty minutes with a drink, I happened to look up at the floor-to-ceiling glass windows facing the lobby. A tall, familiar figure walked past.
It was Jerrod. He was walking with purpose, headed straight toward the hotel elevators.
A sudden spike of jealous heat ran straight through my body. Was he here for her? I reminded myself he was just a guy we met an hour ago—fair game for whoever wanted to play.
Ten minutes later, my phone buzzed on the bar counter. It was a text from Tisha: Can you come upstairs? I need your help with something.
She didn't give any details. I packed up my laptop, that nervous, electric flutter building in my stomach as I stepped into the elevator and rode it back up to our floor.
