A Night to Misbehave
"I'll be home tomorrow night, honey. I'm expecting you've already cleared your schedule for the entire week."
"I did," I replied curtly.
"Good. I have to go. I'll call you first thing in the morning. Bye."
Before I could say anything else, the call ended with a beep.
I sighed. For some reason, the air I was breathing felt suffocating—even though I was already outside the D'Vion Bar. I turned to face the entrance, muttering to myself, No big deal. If he's coming home tomorrow, then I still have one night left to live.
Not bad, Syrelle. Not bad at all.
I plastered my signature seductive smile and sauntered back inside.
The bar was packed tonight—practically bursting at the seams. But what did I expect? TGIF. The swarm of people was overwhelming, but it didn't take long for me to spot the table where I had left my friends.
"And there she is! Our professor in that field is back," Jessica teased, nodding toward me.
Zianna and Mertyl shot me curious looks, silently asking about the phone call.
"Reynaldo's coming home tomorrow," I said flatly. "But don't worry, girls. I'm all yours tonight." I smiled playfully.
They all burst out laughing.
"Told you," Jessica said, raising her brows at the others. "This woman here has a degree in seduction."
"You love talking behind my back, don't you?" I said with a laugh.
"Of course," she replied with a grin, lifting her tequila glass.
We raised our drinks for a toast, and the conversation flowed into random topics. That is, until I felt a warm hand on my lower back.
I turned around.
"Look who's here."
Oh God. That bedroom voice—I knew it too well.
"Austin," I breathed out when I saw him standing behind me.
"Syrelle," he said with a smirk. "Does Reynaldo know you're here? I heard he's coming home tomorrow." There was a trace of threat in his voice.
I didn't answer. Instead, I raised an eyebrow and grinned.
"You know Dad hates liars. You might just get punished for this, kitty." His eyes slowly roamed over my body.
I stepped closer, gently trailing my fingers up his arm to his firm shoulders.
"Punishment is only for those who get caught, baby."
"I already did."
"Oh, of course you did." I leaned in, pressing my body against his. He tensed for a moment, but quickly relaxed.
"So how about you punish me instead?" I whispered. "That way we both get what we want."
I watched as his Adam's apple bobbed up and down.
I knew my friends were watching—but I didn't care. This was exactly what they always talked about anyway. How I had mastered the art of seduction. Like Jessica said, I didn't just learn it—I had a degree in it.
I am Syrelle Dela Vega, and I am a professional gold digger.
"Drinks on me, girls! Have fun!" I called out, tossing them my credit card before walking out of the bar—Austin following close behind.
