Manalapan Connection II

David was happy that the case was solved and he had figured out the murder of the congressman’s son. It had been a long, busy day and he was almost home. His partner Jack was about to drop him off as usual and he was ready for rest and to spend a little time with his wife Eva. David was tired after the hard case and was feeling much older than his forty-three years. Being a police homicide detective was hard enough but he felt more responsibility since he became a lieutenant.

He wanted to be more carefree like his partner of twelve years, Jack Talbot. Jack never seemed too excited about anything and wasn’t too concerned about much either. Jack was a jokester most of the time and gave David a hard time about money. Jack survived on a police salary and David had inherited an expensive home in a secluded neighborhood, vehicles and money from his uncle. Houses in this area of Manalapan Florida started at a million and most of the ones around David exceeded that by a lot. David’s house was just about a million, at least that is what the city taxing authority told him it was worth. If it wasn’t for the money left and invested by his uncle, David couldn’t even afford the taxes on this place.

Eva was waiting for David to get home; he had called and told her he was on his way. Eva was a stunning beauty of forty-one but looked half that age. David had a lot to talk to her about and one of the most important things was the newest member of their team. Officer Charlotte Hays had been very instrumental in solving the last two cases David had worked on, but David needed to talk to Eva about some new, more personal things that had garnered his attention.

Eva was standing in the doorway as David entered the kitchen just off of the back deck that leads down to the boat dock attached to the house. David put his arms around Eva and gave her a hug as he pulled her head to him for a kiss. He looked down at her and she could read his face. It had become very easy after the twenty years they had spent together.

Eva asked, “What’s wrong? You seem distracted.”

David replied, “I guess there have been some events that I need to talk to you about.”

Eva knew David well enough to know what those events were all about. She asked, “Is it Charlotte?”

David took Eva by the hand and led her to the kitchen as they took a seat at the breakfast bar.

David said, “You know Charlotte has been somewhat flirty and a little aggressive lately.”

Eva replied, “Yes, I am very aware of that, have things gotten worse?”

David said, “I already told you about her wanting me to help her get into her night clothes after she had been hurt. She didn’t seem bothered at all about being naked in front of me.”

Eva replied, “Yes, I know you told me. I said she had a concussion and maybe she just wasn’t herself.”

David cleared his throat and looked Eva straight into the eyes and said, “After we took the confession in the congressman’s son’s murder, she grabbed my hand and said she guessed we needed to talk. I just confirmed that maybe we did.”

Eva asked, “Are you going to talk to her?”

David replied, “I need to if I can figure out what the hell to say when I do.”

Eva asked, “Do you think you will have to transfer her off your team?”

David replied, “I hope it doesn’t come to that. I think I will just tell her that I am happily married and would never cheat on you.”

Eva replied, “I hope she doesn’t just view that as a challenge.”

David said, “I hope not too, I don’t want to hurt her but I have to stop this before it gets out of hand.”

Eva pulled David in for a kiss and then said, “I trust you completely; I know you will handle this. I like Charlotte and I don’t think she is a bad person at all but I think she hasn’t had a lot of good luck in the relationship department. She has gotten to know you and she knows you are a good guy, that is pretty rare out there and she knows you are a pretty attractive man.”

David blushed at that statement and just said, “Okay, I will figure something out and I need to do it pretty quickly.”

Eva asked, “Do you think I should talk to her? We could have her meet us at Louie’s for a celebration for solving the case and I could try to get her alone and just tell her I know what is going on and I feel she has betrayed me by doing these things behind my back.”

David answered, “I will do it so don’t worry about it, it should come from me.”

Eva had prepared dinner while she waited for David to come home.

She took his hand and put it around her waist as she said, “I know you will handle it and I trust you.”

David replied, “Good, let’s forget about Charlotte for the moment, I just need to chill and maybe eat something.”

Eva said, “I think that sounds great and I have dinner waiting and the table is already set and waiting for us.”

David took a seat at the table as Eva brought a salad she had made and put it on the table along with an Italian vinaigrette dressing. Eva had a nice Chardonnay poured for them to go with the Garlic Shrimp Linguine she had prepared and was just waiting for that journey from the kitchen to the dining room table.

David was impressed but he was always impressed when Eva prepared something. She knew her way around a kitchen but didn’t always cook because David’s schedule as a detective was always challenging and unpredictable. David knew his way around a kitchen as well and enjoyed cooking when time allowed. Often the couple would cook together when the time was available, but that was rarely the case. David loved shrimp and anything with it was always a hit. He couldn’t think of anything better, outside of bacon. He knew bacon was good on anything and could only improve whatever you put it with. David and Eva ate dinner and changed the subject. There were no more discussions about Charlotte. Eva asked David about the case and he explained some details about thinking Charles was the killer and it turned out to be his wife. David had wondered if there were some early signs he could have seen if he had been paying attention.

Eva had gone back into the kitchen to bring back the dessert. It was “Rum Raisin Bread Pudding”. She brought it out with a cup of coffee so they could eat dessert and relax after dinner.

After they ate the dessert Eva asked, “How about sitting in the hot tub for a while?”

David knew Eva had wanted them to start trying to take more advantage of the things that David’s uncle had left for them.

David replied, “Okay, I think that would be a good thing, maybe it would help to relax.”

David and Eva headed out to the hot tub. It was located on their back deck and secluded from view by hedges most of the way around. It was common for the two of them to be naked in their own tub when they were alone. David was undressed quickly and climbed inside just to watch Eva slowly undress before taking David’s hand and joining him. Eva was slow to undress on purpose because she knew that David enjoyed watching her. Besides that point, she wanted to erase any memories he may have of Charlotte, still lingering somewhere.

David brought his cell phone out and laid it beside the hot tub in case something happened and the department called him. David had brought the remainder of their wine out and set it on a table by the hot tub. They sat side by side for a while just talking about nothing specific. The water jets were sending very warm bubbles all around their bodies. Eva had just said something about how they should spend more time using the things David’s uncle Fred had left them.

Then David lifted Eva’s chin up as he planted a kiss on her lips and said, “No more talk about Uncle Fred or Charlotte or even the weather for that matter I have other things on my mind.”

The couple embraced and kissed a deep and passionate kiss as Eve pressed her breast against David. His arms were around her as he nibbled her neck and kissed his way down to her shoulders. He pulled back a few times taking in the view, watching the water droplets drip off of Eva’s swollen firm nipples. They were swollen so much they pressed firmly against the outer skin, and faint white spaces where the skin was pulled tightly could be seen. David moved his head down in place and gently licked the nipples first and swirled his tongue around them before pulling them inside his mouth. Then David said, “Let’s get in that lounge chair.”

He motioned to the chair with his hand as Eva had regained some awareness after being caught up in the moment.

Eva wasn’t that happy about being interrupted and said, “Okay I will move but you better finish what you started.”

They got into the lounge chair. There was a temperature change but it was a warm night and the warm breeze blowing over them wasn’t that much cooler. Eva’s nipples were still swollen and David wasn’t quite sure if it was the temperature change or her excitement that caused it. Their bodies were still wet from the tub but Eva’s back had been dried somewhat by the cushion of the lounge chair. David planned on licking the rest of the water off of her.

David kissed his way down Eva’s stomach and she instinctively spread her legs as he kissed the inside of her thighs and then started to tease her clit with his tongue. Eva tried to push her hips up to make greater contact with David’s tongue. She was already in an aroused condition having sat in front of one of the jets in the tub.

She grabbed David’s head and pulled it to her and said, “Stop teasing, I need it now babe, I need to let go and come right now.”

David started to lick with greater firmness and slid a couple of fingers inside her. She began to breathe very heavily and humped his tongue and fingers with rapid firm strokes. She picked up her pace as her moans grew ever louder and her hands held David’s head firmly. Then she arched her back as she yelled out. It wasn’t words that came out but more like animal noises; then she relaxed and let go of David’s head. Eva slid her hand gently down and noticed David was very ready for her.

David replied, “Well now that you mention it I have an idea.”

David motioned for Eva to get on her hands and knees and he positioned himself behind her and pushed all the way in. Eva was soaking and it wasn’t from the hot tub. Eva said, “I guess at some point we won’t be able to ignore Charlotte any more.”

David replied, “When I have the right opportunity, I will sit down with her and tell her how things have to be.”

Eva replied, “I trust that you will. Do you want to go in for a shower or rinse off in the hot tub and see if the pool guy notices?”

David answered, “I guess it would be best to go inside for the shower and bed.”

That was a good enough answer for Eva and that was what they did.
