Summary

Charlie is the sexy older boy from next door who is a military veteran and who is about to crash into Re-Anne's life like he's never left. Re-Anne is the typical American girl next door. Will she put all her dreams on hold for him? Will she finally think of him as a love interest? Will her love for him grow while he's not with her? Will she finally see him as who he's always been? Will he finally prove to her that he can be her forever? All this and more in Charlie... Authors' note: Character descriptions... Charlie: was/is a figment of my imagination and who I would personally think who is a gorgeous human being. However, when I tried to find someone who could fit his description, I didn't want to use a well known celebrity. I wanted someone who could be the typical guy next door. (If Charlie was my next door neighbor I would never leave home ;-) ) While doing an extensive online search... I found Jorge Del Rio Romero. Jorge is a young male model who currently resides in Madrid, Spain. To follow him on his instagram account his username is: jorgedlrio13. Re-Anne: has somewhat of a description but not completely because I want you the reader to put yourself as you are Re-Anne. Started: 11/27/17 Completed: N/A

Prologue

“Focus Re-Anne, focus,” I said to myself. I was currently filling out my application for the second time to Brown University. I graduated from high school back in May, and it was already the Christmas holiday season. I got discouraged after I received my first rejection letter to Brown when I was a Junior in high school.

Going to Brown University was the only school I had ever wanted to attend. Looking for another school never even crossed my mind. They had a great Egyptology Department. The study of history and where we could have come from was fascinating to me.

I wondered what my neighbor, Charlie, was currently doing right now. Charlie lived next to me since as long as I could remember. He was my big brother, just not biologically. Him and I went to high school together. He was a junior when I was a freshman, and I was what you would call the ‘nerd type’. I always had my closest friends, but Charlie was always there to protect me from the stupid high school jocks and those idiotic girls who thought that Charlie was my boyfriend. They would always give me such murderous looks.

For Charlie, I knew that he did feel something more for me, I just never knew how much more. My feelings for Charlie were more of a brotherly type of love however. I never saw him in a sexual way, but he was and always had been very gorgeous. Charlie had a jawline that could cut you if you touched it and beautiful green hazel eyes that could melt the coldest of hearts. He had light brown hair almost chestnut in color. The last time I saw him, he was almost 6′3" and roughly 175lbs. Oh, and yes, he had dimples, how could anyone be so genetically lucky? Charlie was!

He was what every high school girl and woman dreamed of. And of course, he knew that. He knew that he could have any girl he wanted, but I only saw him as my big brother.

My best friend, Mattie, was one of those girls. She was obsessed with him, to the point that it was annoying. She had childhood crush on him since the day she moved to our small town. I respected her wishes and for me that meant you don’t break girl code.

Hmmm... oh pretty colors on this add that just popped out on my screen. “Wait, Re-Anne, do your application. Stop slacking and letting things distract you.”

I decided that after high school, I was going to take a year off from school. My parents highly discouraged this. I still upset and down that I wasn’t accepted into Brown University two years ago. At the moment, I was trying to finish my application.

When Charlie was away in parts unknown, we would occasionally write letters here and there, but it was just to catch up with him. We never wrote on a daily basis- hell, not even on a monthly basis. So much so that I didn’t even know he was on leave. I wished that we had time to catch up like old times when we were in high school.

A month later...
