Summary

Ishani Sen has learned to build a life without promises. A single mother in Mumbai, she raises her five-year-old daughter, Kiara, alone after the man she trusted vanished before their child was born. Her days balance work, school runs, and shielding Kiara from her loneliness. Armaan Sandhu, a billionaire and hotel magnate, has wealth, power, and no patience for love. When a chance encounter at his hotel brings him face-to-face with Ishani and her fearless little girl, they clash instantly. Yet Kiara's warmth begins to soften the guarded man, and Armaan finds himself returning for reasons he cannot explain. As he becomes part of their lives, Ishani struggles to trust him. She refuses to let wealth replace respect, and will not risk her daughter's heart for someone who might leave. Armaan meanwhile, must face a family that questions Ishani's background and a cousin whose charming support hides a dangerous agenda. Then an old photograph exposes a connection between the Sen and Sandhu families—and reveals that Kiara's father may be closer than Ishani imagined. The truth threatens to shatter the fragile bond growing between them. Caught between a painful past and a love neither planned, Ishani and Armaan must decide whether family is defined by blood, promises, or the people who choose to stay. Sometimes, the most unexpected family is the one you build yourself.

INTRODUCTION

THE ACCIDENTAL FAMILY

Introduction

Romantic Comedy | Single Mother Romance | Family Secrets

A Little Love, A Lot of Trouble

Ishani Sen had never believed in fairy tales.

Not after the man she once loved walked out of her life, leaving her with a broken heart, a five-year-old daughter, and enough unpaid bills to make Cinderella reconsider her happily-ever-after.

At twenty-nine, Ishani had mastered the art of being a single mother.

She could prepare breakfast, pack a school lunch, answer work calls, negotiate with difficult clients, and chase a stubborn little girl around the apartment—all before eight in the morning.

Romance?

She barely had time to remember what it felt like.

Her daughter, Kiara, however, had other plans.

The five-year-old believed her mother deserved a prince.

Preferably one who owned a car, knew how to make pancakes, and could carry her when she fell asleep.

Unfortunately, Kiara’s idea of a prince was about to become a very serious problem.

Because Armaan Sandhu was absolutely nothing like a fairy-tale prince.

At thirty-five, he was one of Mumbai’s most successful businessmen, a man known for his sharp decisions, expensive suits, and terrifyingly calm expression.

He had built an empire through hard work and discipline.

He had little patience for nonsense.

And he had absolutely no intention of falling in love.

Especially not with a woman who argued with him over hotel decorations.

Especially not with a little girl who called him lonely.

And definitely not with a family that seemed determined to adopt him without asking.

But life rarely asks permission before changing everything.

One unexpected meeting.

One disastrous event.

One little girl with a chocolate muffin and a matchmaking plan.

And suddenly, Armaan Sandhu found himself caught between a woman who refused to depend on anyone and a child who had decided he belonged to them.

Ishani wanted peace.

Armaan wanted control.

Kiara wanted a father.

And fate?

Fate wanted to watch the three of them make a complete mess of everything.

Because sometimes, the greatest love stories don’t begin with flowers, candlelight, or a perfect first kiss.

Sometimes, they begin with a spilled arrangement, an embarrassing question, and a man who has absolutely no idea how to handle a five-year-old.

And sometimes, the family you never planned becomes the one you cannot imagine living without.

This is the story of Ishani, Armaan, and Kiara.

A story of unexpected love, hilarious misunderstandings, family secrets, second chances, and three people who discover that happiness can arrive in the most inconvenient—and wonderful—ways.

Because love doesn’t always come looking for you.

Sometimes, it comes with a little girl who refuses to take no for an answer.

And sometimes, it comes with a man who never expected to become someone’s home.
