The Tam of the Storms

Summary

On the evening Seamus MacDougall saw the woman on the shingle below the castle, he set his piece-box down in the grass and took off his cap for no reason he could name. She stood at the edge of the wet sand with her face lifted to the sea, and on her head was a soft blue tam with a green toorie that nodded in the wind. Nobody in Dunbeath had worn a tam like that in his lifetime. His grandfather had once told him the house keeps what it loves and brings it home. Seamus had laughed at nine. He was twenty now, and he did not laugh as he started down the steps.

He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel
