Chapter 1: Chapter 1The Unfolding
It was a tense evening in the realm of the afterlife. Janius was sitting in a large chair in the great room waiting for the Supreme Being to arrive to speak to her. She was not sure why the Supreme Being was calling to meet with her; she had mixed emotions as to what was to transpire.
She was extremely nervous and the tension in the room was so high, it felt as if lightning would strike at any moment. Janius could feel the vibrations build up more and more and then suddenly a booming voice surrounded the room with an incredible pitch. “HELLO JANIUS, I SEE THAT YOU ARE BACK WITH US.”
“Yes, great master,” said Janius quivering with fright and hardly able to speak, “I have just arrived here after serving my master’s wishes, and my hope is to be able to relax for awhile as what I went through was very stressful on my previous visit to Earth as you are probably aware of.”
“WELL, I AM NOT SO SURE THAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN RIGHT AWAY.” The powerful voice became calmer as the Supreme Being continued to speak. “I have yet another assignment for you, so I’m not quite ready for you to enjoy being back here yet, after that, perhaps you will be able to reside in peace for awhile, but for now I am depending on you to be the hope for many.”
“Oh boy, here we go,” Janius thought, “What do have for me now Oh Mighty one?” Janius asked fearing the worst.
“You are a very strong willed individual and I am really impressed as to your courageousness in showing guidance and fortitude to the women of that time so that they realized that it was not just a man’s world. Although I cannot tell you much about what you will be doing in this next moment in time when you leave here again, except that I am very displeased with the events going on in a place called America, you will know what to do when you come to that point through growth. You will start young and inexperienced; however, you will grow wiser as you gain experience through aging with time. These are trying times. There are important events I need you to be making decisions on, so it is imperative that you leave as soon as possible. Go to the others, they will help you to travel there.” Janius said, “I’m very flattered that you have picked me to do your bidding, how can I refuse you, I will get with the others so they can instruct me on what must be done.”
Janius went to meet and to convene with the ones who would show her the way that she had to travel to return to Earth. She did not remember what it was like because of the time that had lapsed from her last visit. She said to the others,” I understand that I would have to revisit the Earth and this would require my development in a fleshly body again rather than the free and unrestricted form I am living in now?”
One of the others said, “Yes, but of course, and your desires will not happen as fast or as soon as you would expect them to compare to the way it is here, the powers that be will decide when you will accomplish success or failure. It would not be up to you as it is here and now, however, that is just a minor difference, as you will forget everything again that you know now as not to spoil your experience. you will have what is called free will, also there will be someone with you at all times to give you guidance and direction when you need it and although you may not be aware of them, they will show themselves when they feel it’s necessary.” Janius thought, “Well, it does sound intriguing, this is a big decision, I am sure I am making the right choice, but then again, what if…? Yes, it could be a wonderful experience. I may never get another chance to experience this particular opportunity.” Janius thought about it, debated with herself; agonized over it.
In her mind, she went from yes to no, to yes again. She thought long and hard and finally decided that she really was sure about going. “I have been called, so I must go”
They said, “Come over here Janius, we want to show you something you may have forgotten about.” They showed her this large hole with a slide that went down into the darkness and disappeared. Janius asked, “What is that?” They said, “That is the ‘Birth Portal’ it will take you to where you are called to go.” Janius asked, “So, this is where it starts?”
“Yes is it, you’ll be born and you’ll only be there for a short period of our time, of course, every minute of our time equates to ten years of their time on Earth.” GOOD LUCK,” they said as she stepped forward and disappeared down the portal.
Janius headed downwards, picking up speed, screaming, “Woooooo.” She was going faster and faster and then she lost consciousness. Everything went black and there was quiet and stillness. Her mind became oblivious to everything after that.
Eventually, she slowed down, stopped and regained some consciousness. Everything was dark, quiet, warm and comfortable. It was as if she was floating in limbo. She did not seem to be frightened anymore. “This feels strange but warm and comfortable, I wonder where I am?” she thought. She remained that way for quite a while, she could not remember how long. All of a sudden, things started to move. There were pulsations and contractions; these went on for some time.
Suddenly a force took her in one direction as she thought, “What is going on?” She passed through a small portal; it was a very tight squeeze. She could not see anything but sensed that there now was light and some sort of activity going on. She heard voices and there seemed to be other beings around her, she sensed their closeness. She was not as comfortable and everything seemed harsh and cold. She sensed a medicinal smell as it permeated everywhere. Someone gave her a smack on the backside, she let out a yelp in reaction to the spank; it caused her to take a deep breath while thinking, “I don’t remember experiencing anything quite like that before,” she thought. Someone then embraced her, someone warm and loving, it felt wonderful and she did not want it to end. After a while, she felt a strange craving. She felt something next to her lips and automatically sucked on it. It was a warm and satisfying liquid. After a short length of time, the craving stopped.
It was after some time had passed, her eyes started to open; she saw breathtaking colors all around her. There were movements, sensations, and lights. It was overwhelming, she could not get enough, as it was so new and exciting, she was fascinated with the effect it had on her.
In a short time, her eyes would close and sleep would overtake her. She would have pleasant dreams and after some time, she would awake again. In this instant there was no light as before, she would be scared and cry. The loving person would be there again with the warm liquid and hold her safely. She would peacefully drop off to sleep again.
This happened several times before she noticed that there was light in the room. She wasn’t tired anymore and she just lay there marveling at the things in the room. The light was reflecting off some glass things hanging on the walls. She was lying on her back looking up. There were colorful things dangling off the walls of a wooden cage like structure she was lying in. They looked like they were floating in mid-air. This is fascinating! The room was flooded with light now.
Someone lifted her out of the structure that she spent the night in and took her outside. It felt damp and cool. The wind was brushing against her face. She could hear a noise in the background; it had a rhythm to it. She kept hearing “splash, splash.” It was difficult to distinguish everything that was going on around her; it was wet and she felt a slight spray on her face. The air tasted salty but it felt refreshing, cool, and enjoyable. She was then carried back indoors and put back in her crib as she went back to sleep.
She awoke after awhile to strange sounds, they were melodic, soft and soothing. They went on for a while, then stopped, then came on again. Some were different, some fast; some slow. She liked them but did not understand them. She learned later that the sounds were music.
She became hungry again, but the soft thing she had been drinking from had changed to a different object. The milk tasted different also. It was almost as good and she thought, “I guess I have to accept that.” Little did she know at that time that she would be accepting many things that were changing and second best to what she had in her experiences?
As time went on and as she grew a little older, she realized that she and her parents lived by the beach in Southern California, the beach called Malibu was located in a beautiful area. They made movies right on the sand. One of those sunny days, Dominique’s mom took her to a part of the beach near the water where they were making a movie called Beach Blanket Bingo. The ocean was so peaceful with small waves. It was a warm and sunny day; there were girls and boys dancing and singing as the cameras were rolling. Dominique laughed and thought, “What a wonderful place to live.”
Her mother did not work and her father was a well-known actor in Hollywood. He was in high demand to make films. Her father would leave early every morning and return late in the evening. When he was in between making films, his wife would be able to see him more; they were then able to spend more time together and go to different places.
Her name now was Dominique Wentworth; her parent’s names were John and Alli Wentworth.
As time was progressing forward, Dominique was growing up more and more, her fifth birthday was coming up and her father had just finished a film. John decided this would be a good time to take a little time off to do some traveling as he felt they all needed a break. He knew that Dominique would not get much out of this vacation, being so young but Alli really needed some time off after spending so much time caring for Dominique.
John said,” Alli, The studio suggested that because I had been putting in so much time making three films in a row that it would be beneficial if you and I took some time off, how do you feel about that?” Alli said, “I think you’re right John, that would be wonderful, you’ve been really busy with your career and I’ve been spending a lot of time taking care of Dominique, not that I am objecting, I love her and it is really wonderful and considerate of them that they suggested we do this.”
John asked where she thought they should go. Alli said, “Why don’t we go to that little town in Italy where we have had gone several times before, we’ve really loved it.” It was a little village called Cinque Terra. It was not too far from Genoa, only about three hours by bus. Cinque Terra had been built hundreds of years ago and stacked one structure over the other rising to the top of a steep hill overlooking a beautiful coastline with white sandy beaches far below. The buildings were all painted different colors such as; yellows, reds, pinks, greens, blues and other colors that were vibrant and bold, it seemed like a fairy tale in a book.
Alli called her travel agent and made reservations for the family. As the day came to leave, a taxicab came to the house, picked them up and they left for the airport. When they arrived at the airport, there were many people there. It was crowded and very noisy. Dominique had never seen so many people in one place before. There were a lot of interesting people walking around and sitting all over the place. John, Alli, and Dominque waited for a little while and then finally the announcement came over the loudspeaker for them to start boarding. They got up, stood in another line, walked down the ramp of the air bridge and boarded the plane. They were welcomed by the crew they then walked down the narrow aisle toward their seats. Dominique was sitting on John’s shoulders. John was very tall so Dominique was getting a good view of the people sitting on both sides of the aisle. They finally got to their seats. There were three seats in a row. They put Dominique in a seat next to the window. She could barely see out of the window seat so they asked the flight attendant for a couple of pillows to make her taller so now she could look out of the window and watch the takeoff. Dominique now could now see much better and she was excited as she let out a squeal.
The engines were firing up and after they warmed up the plane started down the runway. Dominique was watching everything zoom by so quickly, and then the plane started to lift. The feeling was indescribable, like nothing Dominique ever felt before except when she was going down on that slide but just the opposite, going up instead of down. “Wow, dad, this is fun,” she said.
“Yeah Dominique, I would imagine it would be fun for you being your first time in an airplane,” said John. As they were ascending, everything seemed to be going by slower and slower. The ground was moving further and further away. They were going through white fluffy clouds that were strange looking to Dominique. She turned to look at John and Alli, she said with a strange look on her face, “Dad, what are all those things out there?” They were looking back at her and laughing as John said, “Those are clouds, Dominique.” She raised her eyebrows, her eyes got large as she turned and began looking back out of the window with a look of amazement on her face.
After flying for what seemed like a long time, they were starting to descend. Slowly objects outside were speeding up and getting closer and closer. The ground was coming up to meet the plane as it was descending past roads and buildings. The buildings were strikingly different as opposed to the ones Dominique saw when they took off. They looked a lot older and were painted odd different colors.
They finally came to the airport in Genoa. The plane landing gear bounced a little when it touched down and coasted down the runway, finally rolling up to a building and came to a stop. The plane sat for a few minutes, the door then opened and everyone got up and started down the aisle to get off. Dominique, John, and Alli were sitting near the rear of the plane so they waited until most of the other passengers got off first.
An unusual looking woman who was sitting across the aisle from them got up to get off at the same time as John and Alli. She looked at Dominique and asked, “Was it a good flight for you? I bet it was your first time flying, wasn’t it.” Being just five, Dominique said yes and smiled at her. She was a nice looking woman, tall and thin and she had somewhat of a glow about her as she walked past. They were behind her getting off the plane; she then just disappeared. Dominique did not see her again.
They went through customs, caught a bus and headed for Cinque Terra, the little village on the side of the hill that they had seen on the way. It was fascinating. They came up over a narrow and winding little cobblestone paved road as the village loomed above them; row after row of small buildings stacked one on the next rising all the way to the top of this steep hill. The ocean was far below. It was beautiful and blue with a sandy beach and people lying on the sand getting the sun. They were going to be there for about a week. After they checked in, they took a walk around the village and down to the beach. John and Alli had been here several times, they really enjoyed this little village and they thought it would be a great place to start Dominique off. Although she was too young to appreciate anything of it, she did acquire some interesting memories about it.
At night, when Dominique’s folks went out to enjoy the nightlife in town, they brought in an older Italian woman to stay with Dominique. They would watch television and as the programs were only in Italian, the woman spoke English and was able to interpret what the people were saying. Dominique could then understand and she seemed to enjoy it more.
John and Alli knew some families that had small children from their visits there before, and they invited them in so Dominique would have other kids at her party. There were lots of gifts, great cake, and good friends. They made it special for her; she really had a great time.
They caught the little buses to go to the different shops where they saw unique gift items in those little shops, they then went to the little café’s to have breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. They took walks on the beach watching the whales, dolphins and other sea life frolicking in the water off the shoreline, they traveled to the top of the town that overlooked the village. The water was blue and beautiful and the view was breathtaking from that vantage point.
The week seemed to pass really fast and the next thing they knew, it was time to go back home. John and Alli packed up, got another taxi and headed off to the airport. It took a while to get back to the airport, as the little road out of the village was narrow and had a lot of twists and turns. They got back to the highway and entered Rome where they were to catch the plane to head for home again.
They went through customs again; sat for a while waiting, and when they were called they again boarded the plane, but on the return flight, they were not able to sit together. John had to sit in a seat on the other side of the aisle opposite to Dominique and Alli.
Alli sat in the aisle seat, Dominique sat in the middle and a woman sat in the window seat. Dominique looked up at the women and realized that she was the same woman that was on the flight that they came in on. She looked down at Dominique, smiled and looked back out the window.
The plane started down the runway, lifted into the air and they were heading back home. The flight was smooth with very little shifting movements from the air currents and Dominique became drowsy started to doze off to sleep.
They were getting close to home when Dominique felt a tapping on her shoulder. It was the woman sitting next to her in the window seat. The woman pointed out the window and said, “Look.” Dominique looked out the window and at first, she did not see anything but sky and clouds, but suddenly, Dominique noticed something unusual out there. It was getting larger and larger, coming closer and closer to the plane. It looked like a huge rock. It looked like it was going to collide with the plane. The woman said, “We are going to be hit by that asteroid, but don’t worry, you will be ok eventually.” Dominique suddenly became very frightened and thought, “What is this woman saying? She is telling me this big rock is going to hit us?” Dominique turned to Alli and said, “Mom? This woman said something was going to hit the plane, I’m scared.” Suddenly, there was a loud crash, “BAAAAM.” The whole plane shifted, shuttered and started to roll. People were screaming everywhere. The plane was rocking back and forth. A rush of air went by Dominique and her folks sucking the air out of the plane through the large hole that the asteroid made. Oxygen masks started dropped from the ceiling. Alli put on hers and saw that Dominique lost consciousness and went limp. “John, I think Dominique’s hurt, she’s not responding, “said Alli as she went ahead and worked on getting Dominique’s oxygen mask on.
The Captain’s voice came over the loudspeaker and announced, “ladies and gentlemen, we’ve been hit by a meteorite and I’m going to set the plane down over the water, we are close to home and the Coast Guard was called and is heading out to rescue us.”
The plane was descending fast; the water below was rising up to meet them. It did not take long for the plane to hit the water and they were down. The plane was moving fast through the water. The friction of the water started to slow the plane down and it finally came to a stop. All the exit doors opened, the slides went out. The flight attendants started helping everyone out the doors and onto the wings. From the rear doors, slides were dropped into the water. The water was cold, but fortunately, it was not freezing as some people put on life vests and entered the water from the rear slides.
The Coast Guard arrived and were attending to the wounded and working to get everyone into the boats. They got everyone up to the beach where ambulances were waiting to take the people that were hurt to the hospital. There were buses to take the rest of the people into town so they could get back to their homes. They took John, Alli, and Dominique to the hospital to be treated. John called a friend of his to have him meet them at the hospital.
Dominique’s heart was racing and the attendants were very concerned. They put an oxygen mask on her in the ambulance. They arrived at the hospital and they took Dominique into a room with John and Alli. They said that she should be under close observation to see if any complications were to arise. John had to get back, so Alli agreed to stay with Dominique. John’s friend arrived, the hospital released John and he left with his friend.
Dominique became semi-conscious and found herself floating through the ceiling and above the building; she was floating higher and higher as she entered another realm, she was more conscious now and aware of her surroundings. She realized that she was back where she started in the beginning.
She was standing in front of the one who sent her to Earth. The ’special’ one spoke and said, “I see that you are back, however, you are not finished with your assignment. You must return, you still have much to do there.” Dominique said, “I will go back if that is your wish, I have learned much in the short time I have been there, but I am still not sure what your plans are.”
“As you spend more time there, you will understand what needs to be accomplished,” said the Supreme one. “Your decisions will be extremely important as I have mentioned before, now you must go and we shall see you here again.”
At that point, Dominique felt herself rise and start to traverse away from her surroundings. She descended down and back into the hospital. She felt herself in a bed as consciousness started to return to her. Her eyes opened as she looked around and saw Alli sitting next to her bed looking very worried. Dominique smiled at her, said,” Hi mom.” Alli looked at her and a large smile appeared on her face. “Dominique, are you ok, I’ve been so worried.” She looked at her and, “I’m ok now, when can we go home?”
Alli called the doctor, he came in and checked Dominique’s condition. The doctor said, “She seems to be alright, however, I think she should stay for the night.
They stayed in the hospital until the next afternoon and they were released saying that Dominique was fine and there was no need for her to remain there. They saw the newscast while being treated. They said that some people were hurt badly where the asteroid directly hit the side of the plane, but most of them were just shaken up a bit. After they arrived home, things got back to normal.
The next year when Dominique became six years old, John thought it would be a good idea to start her doing little kid commercials. It was quite a learning experience for Dominique. Her first commercial was a scene where she and two other kids about her age were playing in the mud along with a dog. A person playing the part of their mom took them in the house and put them in the bathtub, she took their clothes and put them in the washer, dried them and the kids would put them on again. It was going to be soap commercial, but being the age that Dominique was, she was not sure what was going on. Alli came along to be with Dominique and said to her, “You did well Dominique; you have the potential to be as good as Shirley Temple. Dominique was not sure whom that was, she said, “Mom, who is that person you’re talking about?” Alli said, “She was a little girl just like you who became very famous doing what you’re doing now.” When Dominique was older she started doing research online to find out about different people in the movie industry. Some of them were still around and some had passed on. She would take the positive traits of these people and work on developing them into her personality. Some of the people had lived excessively and become alcoholics or drug addicts, while others did not let fame and fortune affect their lives. They were still down to earth people living normal lives outside of their filmmaking careers.
It is hard work being an actor. First, you find yourself getting to the studio before sunrise, then you’re having to sit for long periods of time while a make-up artist works on your face for the part you’re going to play, and then you have to rehearse your lines repeatedly before going in front of a camera, having the director cutting and starting over until the scene is perfect, finally finishing a scene, and then going back to have all that makeup removed before you could go home. It was dark when you left for work and dark when you eventually got home. It consumes a tremendous amount of time and energy to do it day in and day out. It was not any wonder so many movie people turned to drugs and alcohol. It was very hard not to let it get to them.
Eventually, as more people in the business began to know Dominique and the quality of her work, the more work she got. Her agent would only pick out certain scripts for her to look at. That was something that John taught her, he would say,”Dominique, do not take just anything as it would affect your future.”
John told Dominique that certain producers, directors, and others in the business had certain people in mind to play those parts. Dominique learned that if you respect the people who are putting a project together and think highly of them, it would better your career and keep your quality superior. Also from the time Dominique was six, she was in acting school finding out where her talents lie and learning how to use them. John wanted her to be the best at whatever she did, that is why he enrolled Dominique in acting school.
The owner and teacher of the acting school Dominique attended was a person by the name of Jeremy Powers. Jeremy was about five foot eight, had long hair past his shoulders that he tied in a braid. He was muscular and worked out a lot when he was acting, playing in those beach body movies as a lifeguard where they surfed and danced in the moonlight. Jeremy was a perfectionist but got tired of the stress of working with impossible co-stars and directors, so he decided to teach the art of acting instead. He had many students, both men, and women who were aspiring to become successful. He was a good teacher, being stern and to the point, almost overbearing and demanding quite often. He always said, “My philosophy is; if you’re not serious about achievement in your life, don’t waste your time or mine”.
Jeremy and Dominique got along famously; Jeremy could see that Dominique was serious about her craft. She studied hard and got good at what she was doing and Jeremy could see that. He said, “Dominique, I can see you going far and being successful in anything you take on.” He also knew Dominique’s father John and how good of an actor he was.
Dominique enrolled in private school in addition to the acting school. Her folks felt she would learn better than if she was just attending public school. The teachers spent more time on the individual, more one on one teaching. They tested Dominique to get an idea of what she would excel in and found that she had a special talent for law and legal matters, but not just any kind of law. She excelled in legislative law, laws that people in Congress, the House, and the Senate would construct. After finding this out, Dominique knew that if she ever got tired of acting, she could go into politics.
Right now in her life, acting was very fulfilling, so changing careers at this point was not an option.
