Great first act, but I’m a little confused

"Act I was good! I was really curious to see how the plot would develop. I wanted to know if they’d ever get into town or what would happen to Boy. I really loved Act I. But Act II came as a total surprise and felt a little out of place. I didn’t peg Mother as the type to kill her daughter. She seemed like she cared about her daughter in Act I actually, because she wanted to protect her from the town and from Boy. It came as a huge shock to me when Mother, who seemed to be very protective, killed Daughter out of the blue. It left several questions unanswered and felt out of character and thematically inappropriate. I love Act I, but I think Act II didn’t do it justice. I think an alternate ending might’ve been a better choice (maybe regarding the town and why Mother thinks Boy is dirty). "
