Sorcas and Faeries

The bright lights and haunting music flowed around me as I walked along.

I had never been to a circus before; it astounded and confused me at how chillingly beautiful was. 'Mama was wrong about this place; the circus is perfectly fun.' I thought, paying for a green colored cotton candy and walking towards the big top.

At the entrance was a smallish blue man with big pink eyes, he had been taking the tickets since early dusk. "Ehnjoy the show." he drawled, ripping my ticket in two, and handing me the bottom half.

'How queer.' I thought, walking further into the tent, gazing at everything around me.

"Welcome one and all to the Sorcas an Faeries!! Our first act will begin shortly. Please take your seats before the lights go off. If you don't... Well you'll find out." A Tall man said with a slight brogue, smirking as people began walking up the steps to find a seat.

Smiling at the people who passed by, I sat at the very bottom. I wanted to be able to catch everything that happened. When the lights finally went out, causing several girls to screech in a silly, mock fear sort of way, I smirked in a very not-so-innocent way.

Silently, another light was cast, this one a very light blue. In this light stood the tall man, his pitch black hair shining with said blue light.

Looking around as though trying to find something in the crowd of faces. Nodding, he walked over to the center ring. "Welcome all, to Sorcas an Faeries! Tonight's performance shall astound and possibly confuse. So sit back and enjoy!" he yelled, all lights coming on as seven little creatures came running in.

"May I introduce the brownies. As I said, stay in your seats. Getting up... wouldn't be advisable." He said, the look in his eyes leaving no room for argument.

While the acts were being performed, I kept feeling eyes on me. Looking around I saw nothing, but those eyes still bore into the back of my head. 'This is becoming scary.' I thought, shifting in my seat a little to try and avoid the eyes.

The next act, was something the tall man called a Sampir. It was tall, taller than the tall man, and had big, vacant eyes. There was this strange kissing noise it made every couple of seconds.

One of the other people watching didn't heed the mans' words and was almost instantaneously captured by the Sampir. No one reacted though; it was as if he had never existed.

Suddenly the lights died out, plunging us back into darkness and prompting the girls to screech like idiots. When a pinkish light popped up, the Tall man was there watching everybody. "When the lights come on, you will be able to use the bathrooms and buy food. this is for the next twenty minutes, so use your time wisely." He said, the immediate area bathed in multi-faceted lights.

almost instantaneously the seats were empty; it seemed everyone had to go to the bathroom or wanted something to snack on. I got up slowly and began walking to the closest bathroom, when the lights suddenly went out. I quickly found a seat and sat down, not wanting to get caught by something in the dark.

"Hello Madam. It seems that you have quick reflexes. I would like to know why you able to see the man who stood up too early. Might it be possible that you are like us?" The Tall man said, walking out from behind one of the stands.

"Sir, I have no idea what you are talking about. I was too busy watching the odd creatures to notice anything else." I said, wanting to move, but not daring to as the lights were still out.

Smiling as if I had done nothing wrong, I began scooting down the seat, trying to stay a good distance from the tall man. Realization suddenly dawned on me. "You're why mama didn't want me to come here tonight. Aren't you?" I said, moving further away from him.

That night, I disappeared off the face of the earth.

My Name is Feira D'Eath. I am 18 years old, and apparently half human.

His Forsaken Fate

Bargara4670: I have marked the ratings down because it was obviously originally written in a foreign language and translated into English. I hope that whoever edited the second half will go back and do the same to the first half. Having said that, this was a well-thought-out plot which kept me interested enough ...
