Lost and then Found

“Help!!” she screamed as she ran down the path way. Where was she? How long had it been since she had been taken?

“Mam” a voice called from behind her was that a man who was calling for her? She turned around slowly scared that the man who had captured her when she was 12 was following her.

“Mam ,i’m here to help please slow down” the man ran to catch up with her. He was wearing a uniform, a police officer? How would she know she had at least been in that dark room for 3 years she had no clue how to tell if it was a trap.

“Mam my name is Chad, well I’m known as officer Chad around here, I heard you scream for help whats wrong?” Chad was jogging to keep up with this mysterious woman he had just found.

“M-my names Adrianna umm I-I was taken from this park when I was 12 I-im scared he’s going to get me h-hes going to punish me again.” The officer stopped in his tracks grabbing Adrianna’s sleeve.

“Adrianna i’m going to need you to come down to the precinct” The officer started to walk towards the parking lot but Adrianna wasn’t following she was running the other way as far away from Chad as she could get. (speaking into the radio)

“ We have a runner repeat we have a runner headed towards town square a female 16? Blonde hair and about 5’ 6 repeat it is a female 16 blonde hair and she is about 5’6” Adrianna looked behind her she saw two people, officers she noticed the uniforms that matched Chads outfit. They were running towards her STOP they were screaming at her that’s all she remembered then she hit a wall and passed out.

When she woke up she was in a bed and there was this machine that was beeping very loudly. BEEP BEEP BEEP the noise seemed to carry on for ages where was she what was that noise and what is she hooked up to this machine shed never seen before. That’s when Chad walked into the room and instantly her head began to pound. Ba boom ba boom repeatedly that’s what she heard over and over when she saw the officer.

“M-my h-head” Adrianna lifted her arm and tried to place her hand on her head to calm the pounding. The officer was pushed out of the way by a woman who was in a white looking robe.

“Adrianna my name is doctor Samantha you have just suffered a traumatic experience, you were running from the officers and hit a wall, you have a large gash on your head you also have many cuts and bruises from where you collapsed on the ground.” the doctor softly placed Adriannas hand back on the bed and looked sternly at the officer that had just prodded into the room at the sight of Adrianna being conscious.

“Chad you are only permitted to accompany the woman if she allows it, do not harass her until she is comfortable with you being around her.” The officer laughed at the doctor and walked out of the room.

“Adrianna if you need any assistance please just press the red button right here” the doctor pointed towards a button by her head. The doctor started towards the door.

“ My names Adrianna Halsey Can you find anyone I might know a relative a close friend even a old school mate, anyone besides that officer that found me when I was running away from that man the one who hurt me he’s here in the city he wanted to show me flowers I turned around from him and walked towards the patch of daisies and ran I ran as fast as I could, there’s more than just me though they all need help or they’ll have bruises like me” Adrianna took off the gown that had barely covered her body and showed the doctor the harsh bruises and handprints that would be there for a very long time.

“Adrianna I need to tell the officer this if there’s more we have to get them out of that place if the others are hurt as bad as you are they could be at the brink of death.” The doctor looked concerned like she actually cared for the many girls back at the ranch that the man had them trapped and now since she was gone he had probably tied them up again like the last time a girl ran away. Only last time Adrianna got the main beating because she was the one who let the little girl go. Adrianna smiled and nodded at the doctor in agreement that she would tell the officer.

“Ill tell him” Adrianna beckoned for the officer to come in after she put the gown back on, yeah she trusted the strange man but no she wasn’t going to let him see her beaten and bruised body.

“Officer” Adrianna nodded at the officer as he walked in and sat in the chair at the foot of the bed she was laying on.

“So, you have something to tell me or are you just gonna run away again” The officer had a hat on that covered his eyes and his voice was gruff and raspy…. Not like Chads, Chads voice was soft and sweet even a little gentle.

“ Take your hat off officer I can’t see your eyes and to talk to you a man with so much pride and dignity I must be able to look into your eyes.” The officer took his hat off and Adrianna gasped. That wasn’t Chad that was the man who held her captive for more than 3 years the man who repeatedly had beaten her when she wouldn’t bend over the bed so he could shove his c*** into her, and now what was he going to do? Was he going to take her out of the hospital where she was actually for once in the past 3 years she’d been cared for and looked over?

“Sam” his name came out as a whisper as if she was talking to a dead body. “You left me at the park and I had to come get you your mine, your my property im the one who SAVED you from that wretched place you called a home.” The man known to Adrianna as Sam looked pathetic, he looked as if he had lost the one he loved only to figure out she was sleeping with another man…. His best friend.

“Sam?” Adriannas voice quivered when she spoke his name she wanted to get up and run. Run away from the horrible man who had caused her so much pain. “Adrianna, you need to come back home with me”

Sam grabbed her wrist and squeezed Adrianna cringed at the pain that he inflicted on her knowing that it would leave a bruise for her to later have to hide. Hide it from the world and anyone else who would ask if she was okay. “Samantha HELP” Adrianna screamed as Sam ran out of the room bumping into the doctor on the way out.

“Chad get back here I have some questions for you” Samantha turned to grab his wrist only to find that he wasn’t there anymore. “Adrianna who was that man” the doctor looked at Adrianna who was crying now.

“He’s the man who took me he said I had to go home with him” Adrianna looked down at her wrist great it was already bruising up. The doctor looked at her wrist and gasped. “He did this to you??” The doctor looked worriedly at Adrianna. A tear streaked down Adrianna’s face and Adrianna wiped it away.

“He’s done more than just bruise me” Adrianna couldn’t hold it in anymore she began to sob. “Hes raped me and laughed when I fell to the ground after it happened, he spit in my face when I tried to get up I was so sore, and I was 12, 12 years old when he first raped me” Adrianna looked at the doctor she had a tear trailing down her cheek.

“Adrianna I found your brother” The doctor sniffled and let the man behind her walk in. “Jeremy!” Adrianna smiled and sat up quickly pushing the fact she had spilled her guts to the doctor and forgetting she was hooked up to a machine.

“Adrin, I missed you” Adrianna smiled it’s been so many years and he remembered her childhood nickname. “Bubba is it really you” Jeremy was 10 when Adrianna was kidnapped, he was in the park with her they were playing tag, everything happened so fast she was running from Jeremy and a man stopped her he offered her some flowers and she thought they’d be perfect for mommy but they would never get to mommy because Adrianna was picked up and thrown into the back of a van and drove somewhere shed never been before.

“Adrin where’d you go” Jeremy looked sad he was worried about his sister. Right now he was 14. How had he gotten here? “Jeremy how did you get here is mom with you?” Adrianna looked behind her brother looking for anyone who would understand what she had been through someone she didn’t have to put a fake smile on for them to figure out she was “okay”. “ Adrianna mom brought me, she’s in the waiting room” Adrianna looked at her brother he was crying.

“Jeremy stop crying its okay im fine im home im back” Adrianna smiled at her brother who wiped a tear off his cheek. “We were playing tag Adrin you got taken it was my fault mom told me to watch you she said it didn’t matter that I was 2 years younger than you” Jeremy looked upset like he failed at life and nothing mattered anymore. “Bubba go get mom” Adrianna looked away from her brother and stared threw the hospital window.

Jeremy walked out of the room and closed the door. Adrianna looked at her wrist and felt a tear run down her face. Why had she been so foolish to not know that it wasnt Chad. Chad was a sweetheart, a gentleman even and she’d run away from him too. Shed probably run from anyone who tried to get close to her, yeah that means even her mom.

At that moment a woman entered the hospital room with Jeremy. “Mom” Adrianna felt a few tears roll down her cheek. “Momma is it really you” Adriannna ripped the needle out of her arm and ran into her mom’s arms. “Adrianna NO” her mom screamed when the arm that had been connected to a iv wrapped around her body leaving a blood stain on her brand new cotton white tee-shirt.

“Mom, can i go home” Adrianna had let go the tears and sadness flood out of her body, she draped both of her arms around her mom and sobbed into her mother’s shoulder. "Yes baby girl Mommy's going to take you home, Oh how much I've missed you"
