Summary

He shifted his gaze towards me, causing the corners of his lip to tug into a devious smirk. I involuntarily shivered as a chill ran down my spine. "It's been a while since we had some fun." An eighteen year-old girl and her group of friends, who all work together for a living. Sounds completely harmless right? But what if their job was to kill for a living? This young girl's past and emotions slowly unfold as she finds out what she really is and most importantly... What she really wants. Laurel Vermilion. Just like the flower; beautiful but deadly. That is her name.

Chapter 1

LAUREL’S POV

The crimson substance glided down the tip of an edged blade, which was firmly gripped in my sweaty palms. I looked at the scene before me as my chest heaved up and down, in attempt to tame my blood-lust. The mission was a success. But yet again; I had taken another life.

Soon after, I cleared up the ‘mess’ and got rid of any evidence possible. The only job left was to report back to the agency that I’m working under. ′Heh′ I mentally laughed at the pathetic state of my life and what has become of it.

A spy as well as an assassin who works under the orders of the MIN agency, who has been trained to take the lives of our targets without hesitation.

My name is Laurel Vermilion and this is my life.

After my little stroll in the rain, I finally arrived at my apartment. It wasn’t too small or too grand but it was certainly cozy. I headed straight to the kitchen to whip up a quick snack, not caring about the numbing sensation on my skin due to my drenched attire. But my plans of a peaceful evening was cut short by a sharp ringtone, cutting through the deafening silence. I inwardly groaned amd dragged myself to where my phone was. I looked at the contact.

Boss? What the hell does she want now... I already did my job for the day, didn’t I?

Regardless of the countless questions I had, I answered the call. I didn’t bother saying anything and just waited for the news to be given to me.

“L, I need you to come to the main building right now. No questions, everything will be explained when you arrive. Oh and the others are already here.”

Before I could say anything, she cut the call. I sighed one last time before putting on my combat boots and black leather jacket. I locked the door to my apartment and headed out.

So much for a peaceful evening.
