Chapter 1
Katie’s POV
Time Skip (4 hours)
I wake up and feel a sharp pain in the back of my head. I try to sit up, but it hurts too much. I open my eyes to a cement floor with silver chains on my ankles.
I mentally curse myself realizing that since I have silver near me, I can’t mind linking anyone from my pack. I heard a door open, so I lay back down and pretended to be asleep.
I hear the people who are coming in talking.
“Alpha, I don’t think this is a good idea.”
“Well, Beta, I don’t care if you think this is a good idea. Go in there and wake her up.”
I hear the cell door open, and someone walks in. They kneel beside me, shake me, and tell me I need to wake up.
I slowly open my eyes as the Alpha walks in. He looks at me and growls.
“Get up, Luna. I need to talk to you. If you can’t get up, I will have to bring my men in and have them stand you up themselves.”
I look up at him and slowly try and get up. He walks over to me and slams me against the wall. And whispers in my ear, “You will listen to what I say, and if you don’t, there will be consequences.”
I gulp, nod, and think, why does this man look familiar?
He must’ve noticed that I recognized him because he said, “I see you recognize me. You should because we used to be friends until you got pulled out of school after your dad died.”
I look away for a minute, then look back at him and gasp.
“Sean? Is it you?”
He seemed to soften up and said, “Yes, it's me, Katie.”
I go to hug him, but he backs away. I give him a confused look. He gives me a hurt look in return.
He says, “I loved you, I and still do. You were supposed to be my Luna. Not Noah’s. Mine.”
I sigh and say, “But that’s not what happened. I got Noah. It would help if you were happy for Noah and me and not mad at us. Yes, I get why you're mad, but you shouldn’t be. You were my best friend, Sean. You still are. Is that why you took me? Because you wanted me to be your Luna?”
He slowly nods his head.
“I’m not just some prize to be won, Sean. You should know that. You're the one I learned that from. Sean, your mate, is out there. If you let me, I will help you find her.”
He sighs and says, “Okay.”
I look at him and say, “Really?”
He chuckles darkly and sneers, “You thought I of all people was gonna let you go. How naive. A Luna should have better instinct with that. Even if she was captured by a ” friend” whose friendship with you was lost a long time ago. Now you will be my Luna . If you have a problem with that,” he stops and pulls out a long knife and says, “There will be consequences. Understand?”
I slowly nod my head yes.
He chains my legs, then chains my wrists. He pulls me forward and pushes me out the door. He leads me out of the pack prison and into the pack house.
