What is your opinion?

Has potential

"(First time reviewing, I mean no disrespect) I enjoyed the read and the overall plotline of this book. However, I do think this book needs to be revised as there are a lot of moment in which characters feel one dimensional or will have sudden outbursts of emotions with no natural build up. One thing that caught me off guard was one of the characters having a sudden freak-out before they reached the mainland, and then within the same chapter does a complete 180 and is totally fine and ready for badass mode. It felt really out of character for them as before they already struck me as a badass ready to take on the zombies. The third person omniscient was interesting as I don't see that happening very much, however it did make it hard to understand just who was the main character as the book tended to switch who it was following. I think if the book stuck to following Hope, it'd be easier on the reader. Or if you wrote in some form of indication to let us know there had been a shift would work too. The dialogue was also another concern. While grammatically correct, the characters didn't feel realistic, rather they felt more robotic in tone. There was also a lot of dialogue tags that really didn't need to be there, primarily when two characters were speaking. Best advice I can give when it comes to dialogue is to ignore what is grammatically correct, as people don't speak with perfect grammar, and to read it out loud. Your dialogue kept me interested, but it didn't make the characters all that interesting. I think the main plot of Hope needing to find work as she turned 16 in a zombie infested world leading up to having to rescue survivors was a cool concept. Though I did find similarities to 'Rot & Ruin' by John Maberry, his MC basically did the same thing. I do wish we got to see more of how the island operated as well as Hope at least trying out different job. I did enjoy the fight scenes a lot. I think those were well crafted. Overall I think this book has a lot of potential and I'd love to see more from this author."
