Because I would not stop for Death
He passed me by
All knowing
But never forgiving
Cold to the touch
But warm in an embrace
We traveled through the country
together we rode
on the cold country road
Snow coming and going
So fast
like the life that seeps out of the vessel we call a body
Night and day
like life and death
both dark but bright
Because death would not stop for me
I became a wanderer through time
wandering aimlessly
watching but not touching
crying but not helping
Thinking this all started with me not stopping.
