"I will be here with you until the very end," he said. His voice held a softness. "Promise."
I smiled through my tears and nodded. Taking his hand in mine, I looked back at the tall grey building that bore dark memories.
"Let's go." I spoke firmly.
We ran into the darkness with no guidance.
