Crash and Run
A young girl is running through the woods, she is wearing a deep crimson red hoodie, faded blue skinny jeans, and tall brown boots with flat bottoms rather than heels. Her face is mostly hidden by the hood, but a large tuft of soft strawberry blonde hair is sticking out. Around her neck is a silver necklace with a heart shaped charm. She looks to be running for her life and out of breath. Just as she rounds the corner, she ends up crashing into another kid.
This kid that she bumped into was wearing a dark forest green hoodie. His dark blue and black hair is in his face after the crash. His pants are eggplant purple sweatpants with big pockets and he is wearing similar boots to the ones the girl s wearing, but his have more straps. He also has a necklace made of silver, his with a lightning bolt shaped charm.
"Oof! Hey! Watch where you're running!" the girl yells at him.
"I'm so sorry... I was so focused on getting away that I wasn't paying much attention... Are you alright?" the boy asks.
"Lucky for you, I am fine, yes! Now, what's this about getting away?" the girl asks.
"Uh... Ah... I didn't steal anything or anything of that sort of activity... Honestly!" the boy says, sweating nervously.
The girl sighs, "Good thing I have a hide out near here..."
She gets up and grabs him, pulling him quickly to a secret entrance in a large hollow tree. She covers the entrance with thick vines. The two kids wait in silence as they wait for who was chasing them to pass by. Heavy footsteps pass in both direction and then it is safe.
"So tell me, you thief, what is your name?" the girl asks the boy.
"My name is Sam, and why would it matter that I'm a thief?" the boy asks.
"Because, stealing is wrong!" the girl replies, "My name is Rose by the way."
"Nice name, Rose," Sam says and digs in his pocket for his stolen goodie.
"Look, Sam... I wish I could stay and help you out more so you wouldn't have to steal, but I really have to get going. I'm on a very important mission," Rose says, taking her hood off and revealing her face.
Sam looks up and smiles, "Your face is as pretty as your name. Now, I can't say much for myself..."
Sam removes his hood.
"Wow, you were just joking, right? I mean, you look excellent!" Rose says.
"Okay... This just got awkward..." Sam says, blushing.
"Yeah... Sorry... Anyways, where are your parents?" Rose asks.
"My parents? Well... I recently found out that my parents weren't my real parents... And then they were taken away from me..." Sam says.
"Oh... I'm really sorry! I know this is just a coincidence, but the same thing happened to me... Just earlier..." Rose says.
Sam hugs Rose, "It's okay... The robots have been taking away everyone's parents..."
"My mission,” Rose says, “is to find my real mother..."
"I'm looking for my mom too, maybe we can search together!" Sam says.
"Good idea! Thank you so much!" Rose says.
"No problem, we got to stick together. There is no way we can do this alone," Sam says.
