Love Is Not So Different From Hate
Love is not so different from hate.
It is what you feel inside
Different from what you show outside
Emotions, they dominate
Flowing, ever changing
Yet nobody knows
What happens deep within a soul
Happy and sad go in a pair
Like how you can smile with a tear
You want it to leave
But it is as vain as grabbing air
People always try to smile
But what they don’t know
Is that a tear can be just as good as a smile
Love is not so different from hate
But of course nobody thinks that way
For love, people could do anything, yes,
But hate can also drive you, always
Hate is not so different from love.
And I hated you day and night
But day after day, week after week
I knew that it wasn’t so right
Like a lamppost in the deepest night
I crossed the border of love and hate
That line I could never locate
It was right there in front of my face
And I crossed it, never to hesitate
Yet I cried because
I knew that my heart would never be returned that way
