"This comic gallimaufry of a novel is chock full of fun and lore. As the author writes, it is a combination of the Chinese classic Dream of the Red Chamber and the real life experiences of some healthy boys and girls in the early Sixties in America. More, the novel is a roman a clef where every character in the novel is a cipher for a real-life person who remains unnamed. The Maury Nonesuch is a cipher for the real Maury News, the high school newspaper for Maury High School. The author of the novel was the editor of the Maury News, and many of his staff helped write this novel or provided explanatory notes. In fact the book was an early attempt to write a novel using the Internet. The high school is now slated for demolition, but the memories remain. This harmless classic of "coming of age" is a web work of those memories, pun intended."
