Lisa
It was a rainy afternoon in Houston, Texas. Maria was inside cooking her favorite meal, beans and cornbread, when all of a sudden she heard a knock on the front door. When she opened the door she found her long lost daughter, Lisa standing there with a baby in her arms.
In Maria's mind, she thought Lisa had gotten pregnant, and was coming there to show Maria her new granddaughter, but when Maria asked who the baby belonged to, Lisa told her she thought it belonged to her father, Mark, because when she found the baby on her doorstep, there was a note in the car seat saying that this was her baby sister, Leigha, and that she could either take care of her, or bring her to Maria to raise.
Lisa, was only 19 years old, and had never had the responsibility of taking care of a child, because until now, she was the only child.
Maria could tell Lisa was in a panic, not knowing what to do with the child, and knowing that in her current situation, she couldn't financially support herself let alone a baby. Maria told Lisa she would be happy to keep Leigha and help her in any way she could, but because of her duties on the Ranch, she would need Lisa to help take care of her during the day.
Lisa agreed to stay and help her mother take care of the child until she could get on her own two feet, and then she would take full responsibility of Leigha.
