Chapter 1
*BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP*
The alarm clock rang as usual at 5:30 a.m. I snoozed the alarm to get a quick nap. ”wake up Kiara! You’ll be late for school. Its first day of your school. U don’t want to get late”. Mom shouted from downstairs even if there were still 45 minutes left to get late. “Kiara!!” mom shouted and I had to wake up. Sometimes I feel that I really don’t need an alarm clock when I have my mother. I finally had to wake up because I didn’t want my mom to scold me early in the morning or get late for school.
(By the way, hi! I am Kiara Agarwal. Before u guys become a part of my life I would love to tell u about me. I was born in India and lived there for 16 years but then my family shifted from there to Hunhington beach, California. We reached here just 5 days back and I want to go back to India. I live with my mom and dad and my younger sister, Isabella. I am just a normal girl with big dreams. I have black hairs and I don’t think that u probably care about my hair colour).
I woke up and checked my phone. I didn’t had a lot of text messages. Just some from my friends back in India. My room wasn’t yet set! My things were still packed in boxes! It’s the first day of school here in California and I don’t know anyone here!! I started taking out clothes from boxes and rejecting them and throwing them on the floor and bed. “Kiara are you ready for school?” my mom entered the room in a pleasant mood. Her reaction changed in second when she saw clothes everywhere my room.
”Kiara Agarwal! what’s this mess? There are like millions of clothes in your room!”
“mom I don’t have anything to wear for school”
My mom gave me a reaction which clearly said ,”wear anything and clean this mess!” I chose a yellow dress with a flowery pattern on it. I started collecting clothes from my floor and bed and kept some them back in the boxes. I took a quick bath and changed my clothes to that yellow dress. I wore a pair of sneakers, checked the time. I had 30 minutes for school which wasn’t enough for me because I had to reach the school and find my classes. I rushed downstairs.
“we should tell her” my mom and dad were having a not so pleasant conversation.
“no we can’t! she won’t understand!”
I decided to step in the conversation.
“whats going on in here” I asked acting as if I didn’t hear their their conversation. (yes! I was a great actor! I should have won an Oscar!)
“you cleaned your room?”
mum said without making an eye - contact.
“good morning to you too mum” I said sarcastically.
“already started you too?” dad added.
“so! Kiara ready for school?” dad asked.
“ I think so!” I answered. I wasn’t actually ready! I wanted to go back!
Mom gave me pancakes for breakfast and my lunch. I had my breakfast and I took my bag and packed my lunch in my bag.
“you ready Kiara?” my dad asked as he promised me that he will drop me to school for the first day.
“lets do this”. Mom kissed my forehead and said goodbye.
We sat in the car and dad looked a bit tensed.
“is everything fine dad?”
“what! Why do u ask so?”
“just trying to make a conversation”
“yes I am sweetheart!”
I wore my earpods and stared out of the car’s window and acted like I’m in that song! That’s actually my favourite thing to do in car ride. (you feel me?)
we reached school and there were still 15 minutes left. Hurayy!!
“bye sweetheart”
“bye dad”
“all the best sweety”
“thanks dad”
I stood on the school door. I was scared for my new school. I was scared if I’ll be able to make any friends? I took a deep breath and told myself that everything is going to be fine. I started searching for my class. I saw a random boy in the corridor and decided to ask him for help.
“hi. I am Kia-“
He gave me a face as if I asked him for money and left. He didn’t even let me complete my sentence. “great start Kiara!” I told myself.
I roamed around in the corridor looking for my class. Finally a girl came to me and said “hey u look a bit lost! Want some help?”
I just simply replied with a “yes”.
She asked me for my schedule. “so! U taking mathematics?”
“yes! I like mathematics”
“oh well hey nerd! I am Lilly” (by Lilly, I mean Lilly Singh! It’s a fan fiction, anything can happen)
“hey Lilly I am Kiara”
“so Kiara we have almost all classes together except for mathematics!”
I just simply smiled not knowing what to reply. “come on let me take you to our first class?”
“sure! Lets go” I replied and she gave me a sweet smile
While we were walking to our first class Lilly tried to make a conversation
“where are you from?”
“India”
“WOW!! That’s like very far away from here”
“it surely is!”
“so….why did u came here from india?”
“my dad got a job here and so all of my family had to come down here”
“that’s cool! Do u miss India?”
“yes! I do miss my friends back there”
We kept talking until we reached our classroom.
Lilly offered me to sit next to her. We both were talking and giggling until a boy came and pushed Lilly.
“stop it you douchebag!”
The boy started laughing and sat on the seat next to me.
“hey gorgeous! You new here?”
“shut up Brent! Leave her alone” Lilly said
“don’t mind him! He’s my friend Brent” Lilly told me
"hey Kiara! i am brent!"
“hey Brent! I am Kiara”
