Chapter 1

The supernatural and the gods are real. The stories were true and I had to learn that the hard way.

Run Ray run was all my mother said to me as she stumbled into my room. She stuttered her words out as blood was covering her clothes. As soon as I saw her my eyes grew wide with panic and fear as I rushed to her she turned and locked my room door.

She turned to me with a horrified expression and pushed me to the window but not before removing my necklace my father gave me.

I tried to pry her hands from the necklace but she was incredibly strong. But stopped when someone or something banged on the heavy wood door.

" Rachel I need you to go out the window and take this bag with you. Go to the car and get far away from here and never return."

My mother said as she pulled me into a warm and tight hug and for a moment I forgot about everything until the person on the other side of the door let out animalistic growl and hit the door once more.

"In this bag is everything you will need, your father and I love you so much."

She cried as she told me this. But before I could run as fast as possible the burst open. And in came the thing my mother tried to get me away from.

It had a large mouth, oddly large teeth and horrifying eyes. They looked monstrous and they had so much hate and malice.

Just as quickly as it came through the door my mother launched herself at the beast. Her head whipped around to me as she begged for me to run.

It took one last look at my mother before jumping through the window to the ground. And ran to the car.

Just when I had thought I managed to escape the car was suddenly the car stopped and my face hit the steering wheel. It whipped the car door open and dragged me by my hair.

The Beast had a rugged grip on the roots of my hair. His grip was so strong I could just feel my hair coming out and my scalp ripping apart and bleeding.

He then through me into the woods and soon as I was free I tried to run, but before I could get far he then shoved me into a tree where I hit my head.

The monstrous man then laid me on my back then straddled me. He roughly grabbed my face with his calloused hands, forcing me to look into his eyes. The were dark like Obsidian and menacing.

My bleeding head was making it hard to stay awake, I felt like dying then and there, it seemed as if the monster on top of me knew that as he threw his head back and laughed.

His laughter was a rough and evil sound like needles on a chalkboard. I watched as his head went back as if he was really enjoying himself. He suddenly stopped and looked back down at me, his eyes went back to that dark stare from before.

He looked into my eyes and I looked back with as much courage as I could muster. I was act tough and he knew, looked through me as if I was made of glass before speaking once more.

¨They hid you from me? No wonder. You know for someone who is supposed to be so powerful, you are quite pathetic. And worst of all you let your parents die.¨ The Beast said with a large frown.

You're probably wondering what may kick ass response or reaction was, but the sad truth was there wasn't one. At least not yet.

¨ Who are you?¨

That was all that came to mind. I was dying to know. And he was dying to tell me.

But before he could respond I answer my own question.

¨ Your the Minotaur.¨ I said. It obviously was not a question.

He smiled a big smile before looking at me as if he remembered what he was doing in the first place.

That was when I felt the urgency to create some space in between us. Suddenly I felt it, my hand was on a rock. And that's when I grabbed it, the huge rock and smashed him in the temple with everything in me.

I watched as his eyes rolled to the back of his head, then his body feel on me.

With all my might I finally was able to breathe as he rolled off me. I then started to walk away but I remembered what he had done to me, to my family.

So I had decided get a souvenir, I gripped as hard as I could and ripped it off. Since he only had one it seemed someone had the same idea as me.

With an angry growl he writhed in pain. My good idea turned out to be poor plan when he backhanded me into the nearest tree. The force of his blow knocked the wind from my lungs and my world began to spin. I quickly regained my balance as I saw the Minotaur fixating his gaze on me.

And that's when I remembered the bag my mother gave me... in the car, past the Minotaur. I just had to make it past him. I quickly looked for another giant rock use, and I grabbed the first one I saw as swiftly I could. He anticipated the rock but he did not catch my foot as I reared my foot back and kicked him in the groins as hard as I could.

St

There was something special about the rock. It had an abnormal glow to it. It resembled gold. Something in me told me to keep it and that it would come it handy.

Today was too much I thought to myself as I walked back to the car. I needed to get somewhere safe for the night, then figure out what to do tomorrow.

I found a cheap hotel that didn't require a ID or ask questions. I made a quick trip to the convenience store next door.

I walked in and tried to keep my head down, maintain a low profile without being to obvious.

I grabbed what I needed and left. I went back to my room and started to eat . Curiosity got the best of me so I had turned on the news to see about my mother it turns out that my mother was dead and my father was on life support.

He had been in a car crash and was thrown fifteen feet from his car and he was fighting for his life.

They had noted I was missing and was asking for my return. My picture flashed. It was a family photo my mom had professionally.

They ruled my mother death a accident, an animal attack

I could feel my heart shatter and I was no longer in the mood to eat. I closed up my food and changed the channel.

I quickly remembered the bag my mother gave to me. I opened it and saw money, knifes, a mini first aid kit, a burner phone, a map and a few family photos.

I looked back at the pictures and smiled. I saw my mothers beautiful smiling face. Her long burgundy her, light green eyes, with high cheek bones, a youthful face and slim body.

My father had dark brown hair, beautiful baby blue eyes and a muscular build. They had the kind of relationship I could only dream of.

My heart broke a little more, they mentioned he was in a coma. When he woke up he would know my mother is dead and I am missing.

I knew what I had to do, I had to be with him.

I tried to sleep but I thought about all the things my mother would never get to do she cant help me get ready for prom, or my wedding.

I could no longer hold in my tears as I cried myself to sleep with my parents on my mind.
