His Girl

I decided today that I will walk to work which isn’t too far, you see I work at a small cafe in Dallas. Oh, by the way, I am Evangelina Rose Santino, I am twenty-two years old. I take after both my moms side and my papa, papa works at the firm downtown whereas my mother works down at the after-school program. Back to work, as I walk in ten minutes before opening and Rosina the owner rushes up to me and throws an apron at me and says, “were closed today because of a huge meeting going on in the meeting room upstairs and you are serving them during your whole shift.” I shake my head and put on my apron.

I grab my booklet and fix my hair making sure my hair is safely done up. Getting ahold of my composure I walk to the stairs that lead up to the meeting rooms upstairs. I knock on the door instead of just walking in I hear someone say come in and I open the door slowly and walk in. Looking around I gasped silently in my head, my gosh all of these gorgeous men in my workplace I think I may faint. They all look at me, and I’m just standing there dumbstruck.

One of the men looks like he’s saying something, I shake my head and say, “Say what?” he chuckles and says “What is your name Kitten?” I roll my eyes at the pet name “My name is Evangelina, but I go by lina or Eva.” his eyebrows raise ” I meant what is your full name Kitten.” “And I said my name is not kitten but if you must know my full name is Evangelina Rose Santino, there you happy.” he smiles sarcastically “Very much so Kitten.” I smirk “And now that you know my name what would you guys like to order?” I say as I hand them the menus.

“How about first we start with drinks, I will take a Dark Roast coffee, and my men here will take some as well,” I nod my head ” are you sure everyone all wants this?” all the men nod, along with myself, and I go downstairs and make their drinks once ready I go to walk back upstairs but I turn around and one of the men from upstairs says ” would you like some help.” I nod and say ” Sure that would be great actually.” he grabs a tray and takes some of the drinks and walks ahead of me up the stairs. I follow behind him and smile as the I hear all the guys upstairs laugh at him as he sets down drinks but the leader snaps his fingers and they all stop.

I hand him his coffee, and his hand brushes mine and I feel butterflies in my stomach and my eyes snap up to his, and he says “thank you kitten.” I roll my eyes and start to walk away, but a warm hand grabs my hand forcing me to stay and I turn around and say “What?” he raises his left eyebrow and says “Aren’t you going to ask us what we would like to eat?” “Sure, so what would you guys like to eat, we got lots of things, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We also got appetizers etc.” he looks around to his men and they nod if they were all talking to each other silently to themselves, he says ” Can we get everything you have.”

My eyes widen and my jaw drops, “Everything?!?” he smirks and nods “Everything kitten. You can even add yourself to the list except I will not share with my men.” he says very seriously. I just shake my head and walk down the stairs, to Rosina who at my look says ” what now?” “They want everything we have on the menu.” Her eyes widen and “gosh, we have to work hard now, chop chop, oh man how are we going to do this, we need extra hands! Are you sure they want it all? Oh Christ, this is going to be hard but we can do it.”

She breathes out “Ok let us do this, you ready lina?” I smile and say “Yes mam!” we get to work and within an hour later we have everything in our menu made up and I walk up the stairs with Rosina behind me both of us juggling trays of food, I left the door open so we go right in and the leader sees my hands full and rushes over to me and grabs some of the trays while the man from before grabs some from Rosina, we say “thank you,” well I do at least, Rosina says “Gracias.” we turn to go back downstairs but the deep voice of the leader says “Kitten why don’t you two just stay and eat with us we know your not busy since we bought you out for the day.”

I shake my head and say “No thank you but we have quite a lot of dishes to finish and we still have to prepare tomorrows pastry doughs, so thanks but no thanks.” He nods and turns back to his food, but looks up once more and says “Oh kitten, by the way, my name is Antonio Andres Winters, but u can call me Antonio” My eyes widen after I hear his last name, I back away and walk down the stairs, Rosina looks at me and says “Go home, I can get everything else, I will pay you for when you are not here it is getting dark so I want you to hurry home.”

I nod and gather all my things and walk out the front door heading to my apartment, I take an alley I always take when I get off work, except for tonight its kind of eerie as I turn a corner down another alley and an arm comes around my waist and a cloth is put over my mouth I start kicking at the person holding me and trying not to breathe in, but its too late I run out of air and next thing I know the world goes black.
